Excellent short break near Dalby forest.

We stayed B&B at the Coachman for a couple of days to do some walking in and around the Dalby forest area, and what a good choice it was. We had a lovely room (Dasher), with plenty of storage space , a good en-suite and a big comfy bed. There is a very cosy public bar with hand pulled beers... read more

We were pleased that the Coachman was open for dinner on a Tuesday night in January, several pubs and restaurants in the area have taken to closing early in the week at this time of year. We received a warm welcome in the bar and went through to a snug area that looked as if it had been recently refurbished... More

We live in Hunmanby and often drive over to the Coachman as it is one of our favourites and worth the journey. We usually eat in the bar but have also eaten in the restaurant and the little back room and all are nice - good atmosphere, open fires, candles and so on. The hotel is a work in progress... More

Walking in from the cold into the bar with lovely log fire was a treat. The 2 hand-pump beers were in excellent condition and I could have stayed there for the night. But we were there to eat. Unfortunately, the restaurant was pretty cold and our ladies were a tad uncomfortable. However, service was excellent and we were soon tucking... More

I spent 2 nights accompanying an Italian rock band who were playing locally. The welcome was very warm and Anna the owner spoke some Italian which was appreciated. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was both copious and very tasty. We also enjoyed a delicious evening meal. The pub part of the inn with its open fire was an... More

We booked a meal here last weekend. It was a family gathering with 8 adults, 5 children and 1 baby. We ordered a drink in the bar area first- a lovely area, with roaring fire and then were shown through to our table by Anna, one of the owners. We had a table in the Red Room area, which is... More

Came here with family for a Sunday lunch, great location for the restaurant in Snainton, can hardly miss it. Inside the restaurant was beautifully done, everything was smart and presentable which gave a great atmosphere. A staff member who was kind and friendly took us to our table presenting us the menus. I'd have to say the cutlery were not... More

Just returned from an appalling meal from this restaurant which has spoiled our evening. I had a small piece of salmon which although cooked well was tasteless and had no flavour or seasoning- there was a thimbleful of spinach some very raw celeriac and 3 halves hard new potatoes which needed further cooking and the accompanying sauce was stone cold..... All excellent. Great food, fair prices, polite staff and talented chefs. There isn't much for vegetarians but what options they do have I can't fault. Thanks guys.

Good food, well prepared and presented (starched table linen is not usual these days in a pub), attentive landlord and staff. We ate in the bar although there is a more formal restaurant as well, which we didn't try so this review is relevant for the bar only. There was a good selection of dishes and a note on a... More
