This is my 3rd review of Moores, but I can only visit when on holiday in Sidmouth, I wish it could be more often. This year we had my sister from Australia with us. She thought this was the best meal she had while in England, and we ate out at a lot of restaurants while she was here. It's... More

With three friends, my wife and I had dinner here on 18 July 2014. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service professional. The meal itself - we had three courses with good wines - was very well presented and delicious. And, for the quality of what we experienced, we felt that we received excellent value... More

Well worth a visit. Well cooked, locally sourced food - and even wine. We enjoyed a bottle of chilled white from a Devon vineyard. The chef proprietor even serves up the fish catches on his day off. Wonderful friendly welcome, which made our celebratory family meal even more enjoyable. Great value too

I have never been more warmly welcomed in a restaurant. The scene was set for a relaxed and delicious lunch which left us feeling refreshed and restored. One of the happiest dining experiences I can remember. Highly recommended.

Stumbled on this fantastic restaurant when walking in Newton Poppleford a couple of years ago & have been back several times since. It's worth driving 150 miles for - believe me! Every meal has been an absolute delight- exceptional service from Kate who is attentive & nothing too much trouble & food to die for cooked by Jon. The menus... More

Excellent tiny restaurant with charming Front of House, brilliant food and traditional napery. Trying hard to reduce our alcohol intake, we were given a lot of help in choosing low alcohol wine (which is rare!). The food was beautifully presented and, whilst agreeing with others who have previously talked about delays between courses, we found the gaps just about perfect.... More

Really enjoyable visit on two evenings. The food was of a high standard and the service both delightful and efficient. Great to see a husband and wife project working so well and professionally. It was nice to see how they are integrated into the community but equally welcoming to visitors. Wine was very good including wine by the glass which... More

Our experience was superb. Great food with very pleasant friendly service.Make sure you relax and enjoy the meal. Allow about a couple of hours as all meals are cooked to order and you have a nice amount of time between each course. Drinks list is extensive and of a very good standard. An evening to savour.

It doesn't really look like the sort of place you'll eat one of the best meals of your life in; but that's what it is. Superb cooking, delightful hosting, good wine list, good value.
