Friendly welcome and given menus as we arrived at our table. Prompt drinks, good to be able to have a 1/2 bottle of Chablis as this left room for a pudding wine. A selection of tasty warm olives to go with a basket of white and brown/walnut bread and creamy butter. Starters were crisp whitebait with homemade tartare sauce and... More

Shown to our table with a smile and coats taken which was nice. Waitress was pleasant throughout the evening, not too intrusive but didn't keep us waiting. Didn't have starters but ordered mains and whilst the Hake and Scallops were lovely and fresh, cooked perfectly, the vegetables and separate potatoes were under seasoned, dry and over cooked which really ruined... Thank you for taking the time write a review. It is a shame that you did not mention at the time that there were elements of your meal that you were unhappy with, if we had known then something would have been done about it. All tables are check a few minutes after main courses being served and there is... More

I booked early to take advantage of special offer 20% off, if you book and order before 7pm,told we could not have this because they were full! On arrival loads off tables not being used, and we were the only couple not taking advantage of offer, when we asked about this ,the reply was they had a lot of cancelations... More

I am sorry you felt you had such a “bad experience” in February, I have spoken to the front of house staff and they confirmed that no one who had pre -booked in time for the offer being told that they could not have the offer because we were full. We do have a limit on the number of covers... More

Me and my husband were very pleased to revisit Neil's fish Restaurant after several years. It was a lovely experience years ago and I am very pleased to say it was still the very high standard when we visited recently. I had a crab starter which was absolutely wonderful followed by Lemon Sole, delicious! My husband had crab Bisque and... More

Loved the food but the restaurant lacked atmosphere not something you can put your finger on but something missing, felt more like an upmarket cafe. For the price you pay you expect a little more ambience. Staff were friendly, everything clean and smart.

The title almost says it all, but we also had great service too. Highly recommended. If you like your fish simply cooked for the best fresh flavour, then try Neil's. We will again when we are down that way.

A simply outstanding dining experience - my wife and I both had crab and mango for starters (a small complaint might be that it filled both of us up somewhat spoiling the rest of the meal). I had Monkfish for my main course while my wife had scallops (apparently somewhat gritty) and then she had a desert. With two bottles... More

My wife and I ate here last Saturday, and both agreed this was our best fish meal to date. Superb fish beautifully cooked, quiet surroundings, and great service too. Neil's dark chocolate chip icecream, was, quite simply, to die for. We will be back! Chris & Anne
