I had a great Sunday lunch in there accompanied by some lovely real ale. once you get to know the staff and they know you are qualify as a local. Back in Jack's day it took a while longer but were never an outsider as long as accompanied by a local. The great well-kept beer is what makes the place..and... More

It has such a nice local feeling about it and is not a pub which feels it has been over worked. Many of the original features are still there from 40 years ago and the building from the outside has hardly changed since it was built. A very pleasant lunch at very reasonable prices.

This review saddens me to write. We have been frequently visiting the swan for the past 8 years. My partner used to visit the swan weekly with his men's drinking group. But no more, along with 2 other locals. We booked a table and came into eat last week, to be told our fast asleep, 5 week old newborn could... More

Didnt eat here but had a few drinks. reasonably priced and good selection of well kept ales. Tucked away behind the main street, but easy to find. Definitely recommend you visit this one .

Another great meal at the Swan. Crab and mango salad and Ham egg and chips. Perfect meals, good value and great service. Hope it doesn't become too popular though or we won't get in. Can't be faulted!

A proper pub serving proper pub grub. Visited here today and had haddock and a steak dish. The steak was huge and the haddock (with homemade tartar sauce) was cooked to perfection. Combine this with a welcoming barman and you cant ask for more. Will definitely be returning for more.

For the twenty odd years that we have kept caravans in East Devon, our biggest regret has been the lack of real pubs - This is one. Not spit and sawdust but a warm, homely place where you can stand at the bar, sit in the window, lounge in the garden or find a more formal food table in the... More

LOCATION This pub is off the beaten track, but well worth looking for. Parking is close by which is essential in Sidmouth. The weather was fine and we started in the beer garden, which could benefit from some plants and pots, but was rustic. STAFF We had a birthday celebration for my mother at this venue and the staff were... More
