A wonderful, must visit tearoom, which is also animal friendly

A great place to enjoy a snack, and a drink. Can sit outside at the tables or on benches in the gardens when they are full. Service is quick, friendly and efficient. It is always extremely busy and popular with locals and tourists alike. Cake portions are large and I usually share with a friend.

Stopped her for afternoon tea after arriving in Sidmouth. The selection of cakes was incredible with VERY generous portions. Good value for money given the size of the cake. We were too late for lunch which stops at 1.30 but the menu looked pretty good. The staff were very friendly and the views from the cafe are stunning (views out... More

Well worth the climb up the hill or steps. This place is a good find, set in Connaught gardens with amazing views of the red cliffs of Jacob's ladder beach. Tasty breakfast and amazing cakes.

What a great place to shelter from the rain and watch the sea mist roll in. Fantastic choice of cake - good choice of gluten free but nothing dairy free for one of our party. Chocolate brownie was warm, moist, rich and so chocolatey. What a huge slice of carrot cake? real carrot and great icing. Definitely a place to... More

Often have a 'holiday' treat to here. It's very popular and in a wonderful setting. The cakes are lovely and very large. Tea is nice too. Be prepared to queue at busy periods.

I consider myself a bit of a cake afficionado. I bake them and I eat them. Whenever I travel, appraising the cake shops is as important to me as visitng the art gallery. All I can say is if the cake selection at the Clock Tower doesn't leave you amazed, open mouthed and drooling, then you've got no heart. And... More

Unfortunately named since this establishment is much more than just a tearoom. A reasonably varied menu, in fact, including the Ham Egg & Boiled potatoes I opted for. The dish was Ham Egg and Chips on the menu but a very helpful lady serving food explained that the chips are not gluten-free. But, I could have boiled potatoes instead. Very... More

I grew up in Devon and now visit annually. I have not had a really good cream tea for years - until I finally got back to the the Clock Tower. Don't be put off by the slow / indifferent service, things are done differently in Devon. You wait in a queue for ages watching 4 members of staff, only... More

If you are in Sidmouth at the end near the Victoria and Belmont hotel and the wonderful gardens and fancy a cuppa or snack this is a must. Beautiful surrounds and very friendly and helpful staff.

Nice place to enjoy tea and cakes, clean and well kept friendly people. Plenty of parking as well and access to some good walks.
