Biggest piece of pie ever!

Last week I went for a walk alongside the seafront. Earlier, a local recommended the clock tower tearoom to me. After quite a long hike I went in and ordered a piece of chocolate mud pie and a cup of tea. Because it was crowded I went to sit outside. Since it was February it was a tiny bit cold,... read more

We sat overlooking Jacobs ladders beach enjoying a cream tea. The scones were homemade, huge and delicious. People nearby were enjoying various meals all of which looked delicious and very hearty portions. Would definitely recommend a visit but only if you are hungry!!!

The food was very good, extremely good value, beautifully presented and the cakes in the cabinet to die for. There was plenty of choices on the menu and the board,We were a walking group of 10 and all very happy with our meal.

We had lunch here, it was very popular with tourists and locals too! We had a toasted sandwich and a normal sandwich, both came with a small side salad, the home made soup smelt lovely and the ploughman's look very big! There was a wide choice on the menu, including breakfasts, starters/light lunches and and snacks including sandwiches and jacket... More

We popped in as we had come to Sidmouth on a whim and it was a little more than bracing! The restaurant sits high up above Jacob's Ladder bay with fabulous views over the coastline. We sat in the (rather chilly) conservatory, but noticed later that there is seating upstairs, I'd have had a look if we were not settled... More

This place made our day. Brilliant, good value, home-cooked food, clearly prepared by people who care. We didn't eat cake, but the slices we saw were enormous. We had soup, a sandwich, and a fish cake between us, followed by 3 cream teas. The cream was generous - even my daughter didn't run out! The place was very busy, and... More

dropped in on the off chance and so glad I did. Mixed menu, lots of sea food, but you could have smaller "light bites" if you couldn't manage a big lunch. Caakes are impressively HUGE and tasty- if you can't finish it all they'll box it up for you. Try to get upstairs- the views are great

Me and my partner enjoyed a marvellous lunch in top part of cafe overlooking the coast and the sea. Toasted ham and cheese sandwich was lovely and cakes were heavenly and portion sizes were more than adequate! Had to take some home in takeaway container! Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and look to come back... More

This is one of my all time favourite cafes, maybe because I only visit when I'm on leave, however they have great coffee with Soya and Gluten Free cakes available. I think best to visit out of season but then again anytime is good.
