I was one of the last over the Glenshee road on Monday and relieved to arrive in Ballater. Having concluded my business in the town I was in need of a heat and refreshment. The Bothy provided both. Sitting beside the stove fire, drinking coffee and eating a fruit scone I was able to write up my reports and send... More

What a lovely little place this is. The staff are so friendly. The latte I had and the cake was so good. Just a little gem of a place on a cold day.

On a cold snowy day it was lovely to have home made soup and toasties in front of the log burner, thoroughly enjoyed it

Our family had a good lunch and coffees. It's a busy place, but there are plenty of tables so you shouldn't have to wait too long. The lunches are good and reasonable value and the decor is nice with local pictures on the walls. It's well located in the centre of the village near the Old Station.

Hot coffee, wood burning stove, home made scones all make for a lovely place to sit for a while on a cold winters day after a browse around the shops in Ballater. Not too crowded for space so good for families.

Second trip of week to this wee gem in Ballater today. Myself and my husband had sandwiches, fresh lovely bread stuffed with filling and nice salad and crisps on side. Waitress on bringing our food wished us a Happy New Year, lovely touch. On previous visit on 30th I had a Panini best I have had at any cafe, lovely... More

Was here this weekend again , very accommodating when I asked of I could have a panini that was not on the board, they made it for me, my companion had a ham and cheese panini and said it was beautiful . Finished with 2 scones that were fresh and tasty. Would highly recomend it.

Friendly atmosphere, great homemade food and reasonably priced. They have a loyalty card to earn a free coffee, so our aim was to go enough times to redeem it - and we did!
