Visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Was quiet when we arrived quite early on, but was busy by the time we left - obviously a popular place, and I can see why! Bit of a Trip Advisor cliche but we went after reading reviews on here and we definitely weren't disappointed. Shared a meat platter to start - all... More

Never tried Thai food before & wasn't sure they'd be able to accommodate my gluten free diet, as we'd just went in on the off chance. Everything about the place was lovely. Very good service, food, drinks & very relaxing. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

I was passing through Carlisle recently and revisited the Royal Outpost for an evening meal (my husband had noticed some positive reviews on Tripadvisor) and I was pleasantly surprised as what a positive experience we had. The setting is unusual for a Thai/Malaysian restaurant - a very old street frontage and wood panels inside and I'm always a bit suspect... More

The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious and fairly priced. We were a family of 7 who travelled from Penrith to Carisle which took about 20 minutes - definitely well worth the travel. Between us we had the sizzling steaks, sea bass fish, and prawns which were all cooked to perfection. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Thai... More

Visit this restaurant on a regular basis, for some reason hadn't been for a few months. Went Saturday 12th July a lovely welcome as always, food to die for, forgot how good it is. So good in fact we went back the following Saturday with friends.

My family dined here one Saturday night for my mam's birthday. We ordered the mixed platter for everyone to start and some prawn crackers. The food was delicious but I think one small basket of prawn crackers between six people is not enough and especially when it costs £2 so that was a bit disappointing. It should be a basket... More

This is our favourite restaurant in Carlisle. The food is always good especially the chicken chetinad, it is just delicious. The staff are very attentive and aim to make your visit a happy one. There is a good choice of food and the cocktails are very good too. If you like Thai/Malaysian food then try this restaurant, I can honestly... More

My husband chose Royal Outpost for dinner when we passed through Carlisle and what a good choice it was! We like Thai but Royal Outpost is a bit different with Malaysian influences as well, and we found it really very tasty. Everything on the menu has a chilli heat rating next to it but don't let that put you off!... More
