Welcome to the Toby Carvery Carlisle. When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Cumbria’s favourite carvery restaurant. Drop by and you'll find lots more on offer, including cooked breakfasts and tasty specials.

My husband and I call in here 2-3 times per year on our way home form visiting relatives in Scotland. The carvery meal is still good value and the Yorkshire puddings remain the best ever. But - and it is a big but - the meat portions have reduced by about 50% over the past couple of years. 2 thin... More

my partner and I called in on the way home after a long boozy weekend in Scotland. it was fresh tasty and lots to choose from. we had the beef carvery. Yorkshires were enormous and so light. roasties were very crunchie. 2 pints of lager and bill was under £25. you cant go wrong with this place. staff so friendly... More

Don't know how people can complain. A hot meal with a wide choice for little more than the cost of a garage sandwich and a bag of crisps! Excellent value, the veg selection always excellent and always given at least two huge slices of meat.

First visit here on Tuesday afternoon with my husband and the carvery was outstanding. From the welcome, the attentive service to the well cooked food we had no complaints...... So, we returned on Thursday afternoon with our family, choosing the carvery again and were pleasantly surprised to have a 33% reduction on our bill. Anyone who finds fault with this... More

Decided to call for breakfast and so glad we chose this over the Tesco next door. We thought we had stepped into an alternate reality when everyone had Yorkshire puddings on their plates and I commented on it and the lady on the table behind said "it's great, I've had two!". So we thought well let's try it, large Yorkies... More

July 2012' pretty good 4*, August 2014 pretty bad 2*, April 2015 pretty average 3*. But, all in all probably not somewhere we'll return too. When we left our review in 2014 we were invited to respond to an email from someone who seemed concerned that we'd had a poor experience, we did reply and never heard any more about... More

Stopped off here for breakfast while in Carlisle for a few days. Had a buffet style English breakfast and it was all pretty good - the sausages were excellent! Although I never tried them, they did massive Yorkshire puddings (seemed an odd choice at breakfast time) but they did look very good. Overall it was a good cooked breakfast and... More
