First of all let me just say this place has amazing curry! Honestly amazing, however it also has the staff to match as the owner was willing to give us all tips on cooking curry and how to choose what curry to match what rice/naan. This made a huge difference and has changed our approach to choosing our food for... More

We ordered Dal Makhani with rice, Tandoori roti and Cauliflower bhaji. I always request any Indian restaurant I visit to go light on oil and spice flavoring. This instance I forgot, but the food that was served was like what we would prepare at home - no or low oil, authentic, moderate blend of spices and finger licking good. Would... More

It's been a good couple of years since we visited this restaurant, it has never been memorable enough to go back sadly. But, checking out Trip Advisor and seeing it so far up the top of the ladder, we decided there must be something we were missing, so back we went to try it again with very high hopes. Nice... More

We had a good 2 course meal on a fairly busy Friday night. We both had a chicken starter which was very tasty but the mains were better still. The nan was huge and very light - one between the two of us was enough and the Camel curry was really tasty and spicy. We thought the daal was the... More

We had an early Sunday dinner here, service adequate, though had two fish curries neither of which blew us away. They were good, but I was expecting more delicate layers of flavour. Seafood platter was fine though I would not have put a spiced potato pakora as one of three types of 'seafood' on offer. South African Pinotage well-priced, but... More

I have eaten at the Bari 10-15 times since moving to Carlisle last year, and it has never disappointed. The lamb Dhansak takeaway I had recently was the best curry I'd had in a long time - perfectly spiced sauce with just the right texture from the lentils, meltingly tender lamb and great rice and nan. I used to live... More

All the curry taste similar and not fresh. My family was sick next day. Would definitely not recommend it.

By far the best Indian food I've ever had and such a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend for anyone to go here for a meal, I've only been with family... Intend on bringing my friends too

My husband and I have had many Indian meals at restaurants throughout New York City, San Francisco, London etc. and Bari is the BEST we have come across. We were not expecting to find such amazing Indian food in the north of England so we were pleasantly surprised. Don't miss this place if you are in Carlisle!!!!
