Used the viceroy for years either take away or restaurant but The attitude of staff means I won't be back for a while. Waited 1 hour fifteen minutes for a takeaway, people who ordered and ate in the restaurant were out before us. A new member of staff is down right rude I was disappointed with Ali when he brought... The viceroy is the best Indian in carlisle! Fantastic food, there is a huge choice of dishes and the special offers on a Wednesday and Sunday are great. The staff are always very friendly and happy to help or recommend dishes, service is prompt, portions are above average size and all food is cooked fresh. The prices here have not... More

We booked a table for 8.45 and placed our order in the bar. At approx 8.15 we were seated and our popadoms were on the table. They were stale and discoloured. The dips were below average. At 9.15 we were still waiting for our starters. I spoke to the main man advising that we would be walking out if our... More

The food is good, the staff are friendly but what let's this restaurant down is the drab entrance with its well worn flooring, and decor that is in need of a facelift. Added to this you have customers coming in and ordering takeaways in full view of diners l think a partition would add a bit of privacy and customers... More

Excellent food served quickly by very pleasant waiter. Will definitely be back soon. Did not need to book a table as we went at 5.30 but got busier later so would probably be better booking if you are going later.

Called and ordered a takeaway for the family and collected. First thing I noticed was I didn't recognise any of the staff, Ali and the boys must have taken the day off. Where to start..well, the meal was RUBBISH ! I ordered chicken tikka jalfrezi, and what I got was loads of raw onions and two pieces of raw green... More

Regular visitor for many years. Took friends for dinner Monday 30th June. Food was, as always first class, but evening was spoiled by one very rude member of staff. His attitude was appalling and made us feel very uncomfortable. I am reconsidering ever going again, which is a shame
