We visited the Mirchi Rasoi speculatively on a Friday night, and were very surprised that we were the only customers. The menu was uninspiring and the dishes were expensive compared to the local competition. We ordered popadums, and were surprised that the chutney tray consisted solely of a small serving of mango chutney with a small yoghurt-based dip. We have... More

Except for the kulfi, we had the standard fare from the menu. It is designed for the English palate, and so was a little less "hot" than we're used to in Australia. Nevertheless, it was delicious food - freshly prepared, and both tasty and delicately flavoured. The staff were more than happy to discuss the various dishes with us. They... More

Trying to reinvent Indian food but not very good service or food. The chutney tray was unusual with unappetizing colours and flavours.

Needing a takeaway meal but wanting a change from our regular venues, my wife and I searched online and decided to give this restaurant a first try. Immediate hurdle was trying to order by telephone, the number given on their website was wrong! On arrival it was very quiet, only one table in use, is this an indication of the... More

Veggies are usually well catered for by Indian restaurants and the Mirchi Rasoi has some more adventurous items on the menu as well as the standard fare. If the owner, a very friendly lady, is overseeing the restaurant, expect her to advise you on dishes you may not have tried before. She sends waiters running into the kitchen to tell... More

We went here tonight as had had a busy day an had no time to cook, price was fair compared to the rest of the towns prices. All the staff were very friendly, as it was a Monday it wasn't too busy so had a nice chat with people who was working there. Food was good, as far as i... More

I went here once, in my continual search for good curry. The food was good, not great. It was very expensive for the quality of the fayre and the service was terrible.

Food was very nice, but the staff seemed very nervous to be serving us. Didn't know when to take our plates, or when to take drinks orders etc. Just looked very uncomfortable to be there. Wouldn't go again.

The waiter was very helpful, answering all of our questions about the menu, which was not translated into English descriptions. He suggested a mixed starter plate for the four of us, which was absolutely delicious - sausage, lamb, beef, fried vegetables in chickpea flour. Two of us had the chicken korma with vegetable rice. The korma was excellent - soft,... More

Some food item was not good, I felt that one of the food was stale. When compare to other restaurant the quantity is less but price is more.
