Great range of Middle Eastern Food

I very much enjoyed my trip to Albatta. The portions are very generous and are good value for money. This is certainly a great venue if you enjoy the music of Amr Diab and Elissa. The staff make you feel very welcome. I would throughly recommend a visit to Albatta if you would like to try... read more

I have many time frequented Albatta and have received nothing but great friendly service with great fresh tasty food. Nelly the waitress is so friendly and always extremely welcoming. She is one of the main reasons we have become regulars, always offering her advice on new specials on the menu so always having new things to try. One of my... More

A lot to say, but nothing "original". It was just the usual bad experience in a restaurant. The restaurant was not busy at all. We (me and my girlfriend, not exactly a group of noisy hooligans) were immediately addressed to the table of our choice. Then, everybody disappeared. For ages (and we were not impatient or in a hurry). At... More

Don't go there if you want Good service & tasty reasonably priced food. We went there yesterday & waited ages for my lunch (& bearing mind they were almost empty). When it did come the waitress almost threw it on the table with No conversation at all.. The meal was average & No one came to ask if everything was... More

Recommended by my eldest son we dropped in one weekday lunchtime for a lovely lunch. Foul Moudomes is an amazing starter - broad beans in a hummus style concoction. The half chicken Lebanese style with rice is a really simple yet tasty main. Good service, interesting decor and great ambience.

Me and my wife always eat here on a regular basis and as always, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is lovely! There is a great selection of food and drinks and we have never been let down! Always relaxing with delicious food and friendly service, definitely a top place to be!

we were about twenty colleagues from work who went to this restaurant for dinner on the Friday night of June 26th. We were given the dinner menu at 9pm, the waitress took our orders for starter and main course at 9.40pm. We had booked the table in advance and were puzzled as to why our order was taken so late.... Stopped off for a quick snack today, ended up having to take some away for dinner tonight as portions were of a good size. A very delicious baba ganoush, with halloumi, cheese parcels and more. Regret not saving space for dessert. Will definitely visit again.

Popped into town for a quick dinner. Came here based on trip advisor reviews as well as the fact we could use Gourmet Society card for a discount. We frequently eat Lebanese so we knew what we wanted. Fatoush, Lamb shish and a Albatta special mixed grill. Meat was tender and tasty. Lamb kofta had a minor kick to it... More

Small tourist towns in England cater admirably for the cream-tea brigade and Colchester is no exception. Which is fine, as far as it goes...but it's all a bit samey. However, walking around the backstreets of England's oldest town, we happened upon a real find: fresh, beautifully presented Lebanese food! Who'd have thought? As vegetarians, the choices were mouth-watering but we... More
