Albatta is hidden away behind Colchester's busy town centre, along a (usually) traffic free back street lined with small shops and restaurants. Today was my third visit to Albatta and yet again, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Although it has a fairly small facade, Albatta has an outside eating area at the back as well as seating... More

I needed a break while following the excellent Colchester town walk guide. Although it was a quiet lunchtime the music, decor and friendly staff made for a relaxed atmosphere. I was very happy with my substantial bowl of lentil soup accompanied by flatbread. If I were a local I'd definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu.

Authentic middle eastern cuisine for an excellent price. The staff are friendly and the presentation of the food is excellent.

Been here a couple of times now and it gets better and better. Went for a meal the other day with a large group of work colleagues and the service was brilliant - very friendly and efficient given there were a lot of people to deal with. And as for the food - delicious - but it's very easy to... More

I ve been there many many times whenever I feel like having a taste of my own background. I enjoy the food so much that I usually order a lot and the prices are excellent. I m a student and it s really not expensive if not cheaper compared to other places in Colchester town. The service might not be... More

This is one of these restaurants that you usually miss, then you go in one time and promise yourself to visit again. Very relaxed atmosphere inside and in the garden with pleasant music. The food selection is really good and tastes very nice. If you fancy some tapas style dishes, you can enjoy lovely houmous, stuffed vine leaves, grilled halloumi... More

Was recommended this place for a real coffee & took dad there for a mid morning catch up. Its' courtyard was clean & welcoming with a waft of eastern music. Couldn't resist the menu & we opted for brunch. I had falaffel with Greek Salad. Fresh flat bread, with authentic tasty falaffels with a superb sprinking of feta cheese on... More

We came here as part of a really large grout of 12, which I have factored in to my score. The food was brilliant - for meat eaters. I had the sea bass and I couldn't fault it. Lovely. Vegetarian options were a little thin on the ground. The low point of our meal came when my partner was presented... More

Albatta was recommended by one of my colleagues at work and I must say tat had I just read the reviews on here, I probably wouldn't have gone. That would have been a mistake because we had an excellent meal with friendly and attentive service, rounded off with a pleasant shisha in the garden. OK, it's not THE best middle... More
