Tasty

Stopped off for a quick snack today, ended up having to take some away for dinner tonight as portions were of a good size. A very delicious baba ganoush, with halloumi, cheese parcels and more. Regret not saving space for dessert. Will definitely visit again.

Popped into town for a quick dinner. Came here based on trip advisor reviews as well as the fact we could use Gourmet Society card for a discount. We frequently eat Lebanese so we knew what we wanted. Fatoush, Lamb shish and a Albatta special mixed grill. Meat was tender and tasty. Lamb kofta had a minor kick to it... More

Small tourist towns in England cater admirably for the cream-tea brigade and Colchester is no exception. Which is fine, as far as it goes...but it's all a bit samey. However, walking around the backstreets of England's oldest town, we happened upon a real find: fresh, beautifully presented Lebanese food! Who'd have thought? As vegetarians, the choices were mouth-watering but we... More

It was a Sunday like any other; boring. I said to my wife, "What do you fancy for lunch? Let's go out." So we discussed pub food, pizza places and other Colchester eateries but nothing took our fancy. Being vegetarian makes the choice a little tougher. Then we remembered that someone had told us about a Lebanese restaurant in Colchester... More

A nice cosy cafe with Labenese food. Great mezze platters. We were too full after a few starters so didn't try the mains.

Ii'm so pleased that places like Alberta are opening in Colchester. I went with my family last night to celebrate my birthday, plate after plate of delicious tasting Lebanese food turned up. We left completely satisfied. The only thing that worries me is that because of its location not many people know of its existence. Give it a try, you... More

Having lived in Lebanon for 13 years I really missed Lebanese food, so what a delight to find Albatta tucked away down an alley in Colchester! I have eaten here twice now and both times the food was delicious! If you love Lebanese food, this is the place to go. The servings are very generous and the prices are reasonable.... More

Having eaten in a few lebanese places elsewhere I was looking forward to trying the food here. We visited for a casual meal on a Friday night, where it was quite busy, but then it is quite small. We ordered starters of vine leaves and halloumi, the vine leaves were ok, but the halloumi was delicious. Our drinks were slammed... More

I absolutely love Lebanese food but have previously been unable to get it in the UK other than in London. To my delight this restaurant opened in Colchester in the last year and it has not disappointed. Fantastic, authentic dishes, generous portions and great service. This has now become a firm favorite for the whole family.

Albatta is hidden away behind Colchester's busy town centre, along a (usually) traffic free back street lined with small shops and restaurants. Today was my third visit to Albatta and yet again, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Although it has a fairly small facade, Albatta has an outside eating area at the back as well as seating... More
