The place was deserted when we turned up on a Saturday at 1pm. The restaurant is very pleasant but I found the food a bit disappointing. Disappointing first that the menu on the website has nothing to do with the menu you are give on the day. If I wanted sweet and sour pork I would go to a chinese... More

We popped into the Old Siege House, it was a Saturday lunchtime, the choice of food was really good and was very tasty. The prices were pretty reasonable as well. The staff were very friendly and I would really recommend a visit.

Not knowing any restaurants in the area, we took a chance on this place after reading positive reviews. Although in the past have been to places with good reviews and been disappointed (I was beginning to think I was expecting too much). This instead was a lovely experience. The service was very good by attentive staff and the food was... More

We had a very good dinner in an unusually atmospheric venue. The menu was suitable to all guests and the food was excellent. Service was provided by nicely dresses, courteous and helpful staff. I like the way that background noise and music was low so that it was easy to talk to each other. Did not see any of the... More

Hubby had beef & Stilton burger, very tasty. Waiting staff were young but attentive, a real credit. Love the fact kitchen was open to see the chefs at work & they were... More

We went to the Old Siege House for a small family celebration dinner earlier this week. We had a soup of the day (carrot and cauliflower) and a salmon for starters. The soup was very tasty, a bit thick, but well-balanced, it would be great if we knew that there were some bits of coriander which my partner is not... More

A structure erected with help from the finest Tudor scaffolders, The Old Siege House & Brasserie of Colchester still courts admiration from passers by today, but thou shalt not pass: go in, son! Brand spanking new Guinness glassware, blown by hand; £12.45 for a two course luncheon; pleasant decor and attentive staff. Bring forth the port, Jordan Belfort! We're not... More

Attended here for a close friends baby shower, we had afternoon tea & it was an amazing one at that! The staff were lovely & accommodating, the afternoon tea was lovely, it consisted of finger sandwiches, cakes & scones with fresh cream & jam. Good value for money & will definitely be going back. Thank you
