Great food, organisation not so good

We had to waIt a while for a table for people, hoping that the food would be superb and worth waiting for. The food did nto disappoint, being so fresh and tasty. No after smells form the produce, and you can see the crabs being kept fresh at the back of the restaurant. Service is attentive and... read more

Fab fresh food..obviously the fish was amazing but the salads were gorgeous too! The staff are charming and are sooooo helpful! Will DEFINITELY be going back there! Bring your favourite wine and some fresh crusty bread and you will be in heaven! Xxx

Highly recommended by a good friend of mine. We visited Company Shed driving down from London, got there at 9am in the morning, to beat the queues. There was no queue at all and the first ones in! The owners were warning passers by that it would get busy later and best to arrive around 11am to get a seat.... More

Popped in for a quick snack on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. Still quite a few diners there demolishing plates of seafood. Had the scallops, king prawns and baked oysters with some Mersea wine-all very nice the oysters were very rich though! If I went again would arrive armed with a bottle of white wine and some bread and probably have the... More

We have visited The Company Shed on numerous occasions and are completely fine with their policy of arrive early, put your name on the blackboard and when they have space they squeeze you in! Today however, a rainy Tuesday in August, we arrived at 12:30pm and walked into a 3/4 empty restaurant, asked to put our name on the board... More

This is a great place which my family love and so do lots of other people. We bring our own bread and wine and have a great family occasion. Arrive early because sometimes the wait will be a long one but the fish is fresh and you choose what you want off the slab because they also sell wet fish.

Planning our first visit to West Mersea (embarrassingly we only live an hour away!), so I googled restaurants there and found this quirky, fab place. We packed the car with a cool box, filled with chilled white wine, couple of beers, water and fresh bread. We arrived at 11:45 and already half the tables were full, so we sat down... More

Colin C has reviewed the wrong restaurant. (Father's Day Treat). This is a bring your own bread and wine place. No bookings taken and no chips to be seen. Just purely fresh an delicious seafood served by friendly young people with no fuss just fun. After the seafood platter, the seared scallops with cherry tomatoes were very good indeed. As... More

This old shed has been discovered so is now busier than ever....it is basic, take your own bread and wine and enjoy the fresh seafood platters...superb !! Been going for over 20 years and have to queue up now for a table, or take away option, but better to eat in.
