We visit Whitby's fish and chip restaurant around six times a year, usually with family. On all occasions we have had top quality main meals ,be it the fish or the meat pie.Only once did we have a complaint about one of the desserts. The service in what is a very busy restaurant as for us always been of a good standard.... More

Everything smart and clean with prompt and pleasant service. Well able to accommodate a disabled guest without fuss. Traditional cod and chips were just that. Lovely moist fish in a very crispy batter; chips a bit dried out and curling though. Much enjoyed overall and a reasonable price. Much to be recommended if it is fish and chip variants that... More

We had lunch and the place was buzzing with customers. I had the small cod and chips with mushy peas and another member of the party had the Scampi which were excellent. A good touch is the fresh tartare sauce. I had the apple crumble which was usual restaurant stuff, I should have stayed with just the mains. This would... More

We had another lovely meal at whitbys. The fish and scampi dinners that my family had were very tasty and as I don't eat fish I had steak pie which was lovely. We had desserts of knickerbocker Glory and brownie. The brownie is gorgeous and you get a pot of cream with it. Staff are always pleasant and attentive. Thank... More

I miss having fish n chips from a chippy and Whitby's gluten free option tempted me. I had a small cod, chips and garden peas. The meal was lovely. There is no option for bread and butter and this would've been wonderful. The waitress actually said they aught to do gluten free, so fingers crossed this may happen. The service... More

Having visited Whitby's as a family on several occasions now, I can honestly say that we have never been disappointed. My wife is coeliac and sorely missed good old fashioned fish and chips; Whitby's offered a gluten free solution so we investigated and the result exceeded our expectations. Whenever my parents visit it is their top venue for a meal... More
