Superb Mothering Sunday meal

Travelled over 120 miles to collect mum and take her for dinner on Mothering Sunday, having booked a table for four at The Barley Mow, Friskney. We had never had Sunday lunch here but have to say it was the best Sunday lunch I have ever had in the area. Service and food absolutely spot on. The... read more

We had heard the hype so I booked for an 11 year anniversary. Ordered champagne on ice for the table and took over red roses and a card to be placed on the table also. What could go wrong? Everything. We were ushered to a table in what can only be described as a canteen with formica tables overlooking a... More

This place just continues to thrive on its success. I've been visiting the restaurant for many years because it is so consistently good. The main menu has also evolved in that there are quite often theme nights and varied specials available. But they have not taken the focus of quality. The produce is local where possible and cooked to perfection.... More

We booked in for Mothers' Day and although it was an exceptionally busy day, the standard of food remained top notch and the customer service was excellent. The friendly staff were attentive and helpful throughout, making for a lovely experience for the 3 generations of mums in our small family party. We have been to the Barley Mow on numerous... More

We have had several meals here now and have always been pleased with both the service and the food. Our latest trip was with four friends and everyone had something different and all thought the food was excellent. This place really does seem to get it right time after time. Good friendly staff certainly help and a kitchen staff that... More

We were booked in for a late lunch at 3.30pm and upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. Ordered drinking including a very good Bateman's XB. This pub definitely knows how to look after its beer. We were there with friends who had brought their young children so we asked to be situated in a part of the restaurant... More

We came here for my grandmother's birthday. We had a table booked for 8pm. On arrival, we were shepherded round to the bar to await someone to bring menus/take our drinks order as our table wasn't ready. However, given that the restaurant was almost empty, I can't understand why. We were sat there for 15 minutes before someone even brought... More

Found this cosy little pub/restaurant on a 'drive out', so pleased to have done so too. Very pleasant surroundings, extremely friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable seating. We opted for a very 'traditional' starter and roast Sunday lunch of prawn cocktails and roast chicken breast with the seasonal veg. Food arrived very quickly and very well presented and the... More

Very warm welcome from the staff. 2 lovely open fires to keep you warm in these cold winter months. Good choice on the menu and reasonably priced. We had a lovely bread starter to share. Main course you could choose from a variety of tasty sausages, potatoes and other sundries. All presented very well, cooked hot and with hand cut... More
