This 3 AA Rosette boutique hotel, run by a brother and sister team in Stamford, is the perfect setting for grand romantic gestures and luxe mini-breaks. Set in All Saints Place in the town's historic centre, The Crown Hotel boasts a superb restaurant divided into two separate dining areas plus a lounge, all eclectically decorated with an assortment of plush gunmetal grey carpets, kooky wallpaper, oak floorboards, crackling open fires and lilac-hued lighting. Head Chef Dan Kerringham has created a seasonal modern British menu and star dishes at The Crown Hotel include the Lincoln Red Pie made with beef braised in red wine with mushrooms; the roasted Gressingham duck with blackberry sauce; and the treacle tart with vanilla ice cream.

Having eaten and visited the crown over a number of years and been pleased with the ambience and food both in restaurant, bar and terrace I wanted to eat at the newly branded Knead at the crown. I didn't!! What was once a hotel is now nothing but a glorified pub - both in its seating and eating arrangements -... More

Probably one of the better restaurants in Stamford for food quality and service. Menu is simple with enough variety of meats, chicken and fish. Service is very good, with warm friendly welcomes. Decoration a little odd, but apart from that decent place to eat.

The staff were very friendly and attentive (a bit too much to be honest; they were all lovely to speak to, but we were offered drinks twice, two sets... More
