Set in All Saints Place in the town's historic centre, The Crown Hotel boasts a superb restaurant divided into two separate dining areas plus a lounge, all eclectically decorated with an assortment of plush gunmetal grey carpets, kooky wallpaper, oak floorboards, crackling open fires and lilac-hued lighting. Nearly...but not quite

Visited The Crown on a Saturday night. The bar was heaving and the restaurant was about half full - we had an Italian meat platter to start, and then fish and chips, and a chicken breast in a mushroom sauce. The food was good, but not great - to be honest it was nice pub food but not all that... read more

Well yet again another fantastic day spent at The Crown. Delicious starters but don't overdo it on the fresh bread and butter! The food is excellent, especially the meat, half of us had roast lamb, the other half roast beef, enormous Yorkshire puddings and crispy roast potatoes. As much as veg you can eat which is cooked to perfection. Our... More

Saturday evening meal for 4 and all 4 meals were perfection Refurbed restaurant room at the rear has great decor and atmosphere with a juke-box! Try the macaroni cheese starter, and the Sirloin steak I had was the best I have had in Stamford for many years

We had lunch today in The Crown Hotel in Stamford. As we walked in, we were given a friendly welcome and asked where we wanted to sit. We have a small dog so chose a table in the pleasant bar area rather than the restaurant. We have lunch there fairly often, and like the way the menu changes and they... More

Stayed overnight at this location as we were attending a family function in the town. We decided to take lunch here as we were only eating late at the party. We were found a table immediately in the restaurant by friendly & helpful staff. Orders for food & drink were taken & served in a very timely manner. I had... More

Popped over to the Crown again last Sunday and I must say thank you again for a great all round experience! Food was especially good even though it took a little while to arrive, but we were pre warned this happen due to large parties. Service was great .... Can't wait for summer.

Further to my last review I would like to have seen the service improve but unfortunately it is still awful. The food however is still very good. Ate in the restaurant rather than the bar in the hope e service would be better. Such a shame it lets the place down.

We had a business meeting in the balcony area of the restaurant - a nice private area that, whilst you could hear the hubbub from the bar below, was a nice private area to hold our meeting. The three course meal we had was enjoyed by everyone and we will certainly be back in the future.

We had my partners 40th Birthday party here on Saturday and we had a great time. The food was fantastic and the service great - could not fault it at all. Would definitely recommend to others, will be back very soon! Thank you for making my partners 40th a great success and for all your help with the planning, Abbey
