This 3 AA Rosette boutique hotel, run by a brother and sister team in Stamford, is the perfect setting for grand romantic gestures and luxe mini-breaks. Set in All Saints Place in the town's historic centre, The Crown Hotel boasts a superb restaurant divided into two separate dining areas plus a lounge, all eclectically decorated with an assortment of plush gunmetal grey carpets, kooky wallpaper, oak floorboards, crackling open fires and lilac-hued lighting. Head Chef Dan Kerringham has created a seasonal modern British menu and star dishes at The Crown Hotel include the Lincoln Red Pie made with beef braised in red wine with mushrooms; the roasted Gressingham duck with blackberry sauce; and the treacle tart with vanilla ice cream.

Lovely meal today, enjoyed it all, especially hazel, lovely lady who served us,the new manager David could learn a thing or two, from her,he needs pulling up a peg, I found him quite rude and his manner with other customers could be seriously improved .cannot fault the food though.

The Crown has always been one of my favorite places to eat in Stamford.....holds a lot of happy memories for both of us. The food for Valentine Night was excellent and the staff are out of this world, nothing is too much trouble for them.Great night and a wonderful treat to ourselves and we will certainly be going back again... We were in the crown and had a late drink, we were the only people in the bar as it was the end of the night and everyone else had gone. One of our friends has a serious hearing problem and they asked the night porter if it would be possible to have the music turned down slightly so they... More

I was treated to a birthday dinner at a restaurant of my choice and chose The Crown for its recently applied railway retro theme, but the food and wine were outstanding and made this one of the best evenings out I have ever enjoyed. The meat is locally-sourced - much from the proprietor's own farm - and all is prepared... More

I took my family to restaurant at the Crown to celebrate my sister's birthday. The first plus is that it has a car park, which is a big bonus because parking in Stamford town centre can be tricky. Secondly, it is a very child-friendly place and they did everything they could to accommodate our baby. It was a business Saturday... More

This hotel has recently had a bit of a makeover and has gone rather more rustic in decor with tin signs and old barrels etc. It is in the centre of town so very handy .They do a good cappuccino with a piece of lovely flapjack or scrummy cake BUT oh dear the service ! There seems to be members... More

Had a good night , New Years Eve ,music was just okay, food was excellent, one minor gripe!!! Thought we had a deal on the room with the tickets, then found out through the day and night, we had paid more for the room than lots of the people there!!! Had this about 2 years ago , booked 6 rooms... More
