This 3 AA Rosette boutique hotel, run by a brother and sister team in Stamford, is the perfect setting for grand romantic gestures and luxe mini-breaks. Set in All Saints Place in the town's historic centre, The Crown Hotel boasts a superb restaurant divided into two separate dining areas plus a lounge, all eclectically decorated with an assortment of plush gunmetal grey carpets, kooky wallpaper, oak floorboards, crackling open fires and lilac-hued lighting. Head Chef Dan Kerringham has created a seasonal modern British menu and star dishes at The Crown Hotel include the Lincoln Red Pie made with beef braised in red wine with mushrooms; the roasted Gressingham duck with blackberry sauce; and the treacle tart with vanilla ice cream.

Excellent Food, Service and Ambience.... with no buts!!

We went to Stamford on the 7th February 2016 to have a look around, when we arrived my wife and I were hungry, I asked a young local couple if they could recommend somewhere to eat, and they recommended the Crown. The Thai Chicken Broth is the best thing to ever come on to this menu - it is absolutely delicious. The crown have also been doing a fabulous wine offer with a loyalty card. Great service, lovely atmosphere, I would, and do, return again and again!

visited here during a brief visit to Stamford. Staff were friendly and welcoming and food was excellent. There was a good selection of main courses all of which were reasonably priced. Staff were very helpful regarding portion sizes and potential allergies

The Crown has undergone major refurbishment inside, with a rather odd choice of wacky decorating in the restaurant. Sadly the menu isnt very creative, and the food distinctly average, although the staff are friendly enough. Wouldnt rush back!

Dropped in for lunch. Girlie weekend. They were busy but most accommodating. Food good. Waiter great. For me, one one the best disabled toilets ever, well done!

Excellent range of beers and wines. Wonderful late Sunday lunch with friends and family in this immaculately presented pub. Had the traditional roast beef and it was absolutely everything you could ask for as was the whole experience. Lovely cooking and friendly service. There is reasonable parking nearby and the Crown itself is located right in the hub of the Town.... More

A group of us came to the Crown for a Christmas lunch together, on the recommendation of others who had been. Having been to other pubs in the Knead family, we had strong expectations before we arrived and we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic and the staff very friendly, the portions or the 3 course Christmas dinner were... More

Pre booked for a family get together: 10 of us travelled from Debyshire, Suffolk and Essex. Good choices and they even did a special fish and chips for one of our boys. I had baked cod on chick peas and tomato just to be different. Really good. The down side....very slow service especially when clearing the plates away. This is... More

my parents in law, both in their 80s, have been coming to this place each Friday for the past year or so. They are now both unable to drive. I went there today with my mother in law (who had not been for a few weeks) and she had a heroes welcome! All the staff who recognised her were very... More
