This 3 AA Rosette boutique hotel, run by a brother and sister team in Stamford, is the perfect setting for grand romantic gestures and luxe mini-breaks. Set in All Saints Place in the town's historic centre, The Crown Hotel boasts a superb restaurant divided into two separate dining areas plus a lounge, all eclectically decorated with an assortment of plush gunmetal grey carpets, kooky wallpaper, oak floorboards, crackling open fires and lilac-hued lighting. Head Chef Dan Kerringham has created a seasonal modern British menu and star dishes at The Crown Hotel include the Lincoln Red Pie made with beef braised in red wine with mushrooms; the roasted Gressingham duck with blackberry sauce; and the treacle tart with vanilla ice cream.

Expected a hit, got a miss.

I somewhat regret I had set the bar rather high before dining at The Crown. I had walked by several times, admiring their quirky and vintage decor and overall ambiance from outside their windows. Right up my alley, thus I was quite eager to dine there and sample their cuisine. In addition it is... read more

This place has no identity. It can't decide what it is and therefore does nothing very well. To be honest - from the minute we walked in and discovered they had given our reserved table to somebody else I had a bad vibe. We had no starters and the mains took about an hour to arrive. Never once have I... More

Had the chance to eat in the snug area on Saturday and what fantastic chilled atmosphere up there. It was recommended by Monica the Manager as the downstairs eating area was full at the time. Our waitress was very friendly and looked after our every need. The food these days is wonderful selection of "classics" to a great steak! A... More

Nice Hotel & Restaurant, very well placed to explore Stamford. Staff very friendly and welcoming, David was in the Restaurant when we decided to go through to the Restaurant and greeted us and took us both to our table. David was more than helpful in assisting us both with our menu choices. Would definitely go back again when in the... More

Lovely meal today, enjoyed it all, especially hazel, lovely lady who served us,the new manager David could learn a thing or two, from her,he needs pulling up a peg, I found him quite rude and his manner with other customers could be seriously improved .cannot fault the food though.

The Crown has always been one of my favorite places to eat in Stamford.....holds a lot of happy memories for both of us. The food for Valentine Night was excellent and the staff are out of this world, nothing is too much trouble for them.Great night and a wonderful treat to ourselves and we will certainly be going back again... We were in the crown and had a late drink, we were the only people in the bar as it was the end of the night and everyone else had gone. One of our friends has a serious hearing problem and they asked the night porter if it would be possible to have the music turned down slightly so they... More
