Been in for a beer a few times but this was my first experience as a diner. In my opinion way too expensive for measly portions of ponce! Unnecessary pomp about this place I'm afraid, food nice but way too expensive for a pub restaurant (particularly the starters - ouch). ... Been, ate, paid, still hungry. Staff very nice though.... Visited a couple of weeks ago, for an evening dinner, drawn in part by the advertised change of chef, with Dameon Clarke transferring over from The Wicked Witch at Ryhall. Our meal there had been beyond exceptional and it would be interesting to see how the food would be presented in a more mainstream, established premises. Sitting in the conservatory on a pleasant evening... More

7 of us (inc. one child) went for dinner on Saturday evening. It was busy but hardly bursting at the seams. We were sat at our table immediately but didn't get a menu for 15 minutes. Drinks were longer still. Service was generally slow. The bread arrived after the starter. On the whole the food was very good. However, we... More

The coolish reception in the bar and they were not busy, fortunately did not reflect the friendly and happy staff in the dining room. Straight away it must be said the food was second to none, varied menu, good quality food superbly cooked. All of us, there were 5, had something different and none of us was disappointed. Due to... I stayed here on a business trip. On arrival I had a great friendly warm welcome, checked in and shown to my room. I was asked what time I wanted breakfast and if I wanted something to eat. The room was small, but then it is an old pub so did not mind this. The decoration was good and the... More

After several years of terrible food the Exeter Arms will be THE place to eat in this area for fine dining, as One of, if not THE BEST CHEF in the area has been persuaded to move up here! -formally of The Wicked Witch, Ryhall, Dameon Clark has come to work back with his partner Victoria in Easton. Having seen... More

Visited for a birthday lunch with family, first time since it was refurbished. Lunch menu was extremely disappointing in choice. Very small servings and all vastly overpriced. The waiter service was terrible, unbelievably slow. We were there for an hour and a half and didn't even bother with a pudding. Will never visit again.

We managed to enjoy our evening (attractive, civilized pub/good beer/friendly staff) but I was served a lamb shank barely fit for human consumption. So tough and dried-out that I could barely get my knife into its black and leathery outer shell. The poor lamb had already died once. Really no need to have killed it off like this for a... More
