No.3 The Yard sits in a quiet courtyard just off Ironmonger Street in the centre of Stamford's magnificent town centre. Under the ownership of Simon McEnery and Chef Tim Luff, the restaurant offers lunchtime and evening services Tuesday through to Saturday and now a Sunday lunchtime service too. Choose from our set menus or a la carte option and dine in our lovely conservatory, first floor dining rooms or weather permitting, our secluded courtyard.

Good food, shame about the ambience

Very well cooked food with eye for presentation. However, the ambience of the restaurant is rather flat. Outdated wooden chairs and tables provide a dull appearance. Table clothes and change of carpet to lighten the environment would benefit the place. If full, the chatter of groups would mask the... read more

Very well cooked food with eye for presentation. However, the ambience of the restaurant is rather flat. Outdated wooden chairs and tables provide a dull appearance. Table clothes and change of carpet to lighten the environment would benefit the place. If full, the chatter of groups would mask the rather uninteresting decor. When quiet the experience would be disappointing. So,... More

Thank you for your review of our restaurant; we are pleased you enjoyed our cooking and presentation. As mentioned in a previous response, we have exciting plans for No.3 The Yard. Taking over the business last year we acquired an existing structure and layout which benefited from a very minor refurbishment in January. However, it makes good sense to hold... More

Four of us had lunch here today. It was a bright, sunny afternoon and we had booked a table in the conservatory. We were greeted and attended to as soon as we arrived and the service was excellent throughout. All the food was very good. The chicken liver parfait starter was excellent but went better with the salty bread we... More

We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your lunch with us this Friday and fully appreciate your feedback. You are of course absolutely correct in that your change should have been returned to you at the table rather than being left on our bar area. Our apologies and a lesson learnt!! On a positive note, we have now finalised... More

Went to No 3, again this month,..the food just gets better and better...AND BETTER!!!!!! The giant tempura prawn starter is a must! The sea bass outstanding. BUT...the restaurant building does have a reputation of being cold, and when we went, we were the only table booked, which is disappointing for the owners, and the visitor, as there was NO atmosphere at... Thank you for visiting and reviewing our restaurant. We are pleased to read that our food "gets better and better" but sorry your visit coincided with an unusually quiet service. We are currently offering diners a starter of chicken liver parfait for example, mains of duck confit on chorizo cassoulet and a dessert of chocolate brulee for £19.50 off our... More

We had the best time! A group of good friends and myself had a wonderful three course meal. The food was truly to die for. The service excellent and the atmosphere and surroundings both relaxed and beautiful. I can't wait to take more friends and family to experience this amazing place! We will be returning very very soon.

We had lunch on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was small and cosy and only a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of the shopping streets. The staff were excellent, friendly and served us quickly and efficiently. The food was superb. Kind of 'fine dining meets casual'. This was our first visit and we will definitely return. Prices... Visited No. 3 The Yard on a Thursday night. We went as a party of five for a birthday celebration. What a gorgeous setting, although it's in town - we could of been anywhere it was peaceful & beautiful. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by two members of staff who took our coats and showed us to... More

I visited No 3 The Yard twice this week; on Tuesday I took my mum and both my kids for dinner and on Thursday with four of my girlfriends, on both occasions we had a great time. Tempura Tiger Prawns which I had for my starter were the best I have ever had, the batter was so light and perfectly... More

Our second luncheon visit to The Yard did not disappoint. Wonderful tempura king prawns, superb smoked haddock and scallop chowder , all starters. And then on to the main events, Oxtail tasty, sea bass fantastic and lastly fillet of beef wellington was truly great. Puddings were delicious and in keeping with all that went before. We look forward to our... More

After a chilly hour or so browsing around Stamford around Stamford and the Friday market, we went to No 3 The Yard for a comforting lunch. We were pleasantly greeted and shown to our table in the ground floor conservatory. It is an interesting spot with floor tiles and local artists work exhibited on the stone walls, all giving a... This was the first time we'd visited The Yard since it was taken over by the new owners. The lunchtime menu offers some set price two/three course options with additional choices from an extended menu. Both the first and main courses were very good, well prepared and presented. The staff were courteous, efficient and helpful. The standard has been well... More
