Have meant for about the last year to try Jim's yard which does have a good reputation locally, eventually managed to sneak a quick lunch there recently and were not disappointed. We had the simple lunch menu and even though we were served the 'Other' lunch special than we'd ordered neither of us particularly minded as it looked perfectly good.... More

Very good food and good choice of wines at this little backwater in Stamford. Look it out for a memorable meal

We chose this on the basis of trip advisor reviews and were terribly disappointed. We ate lunch and the food was average. My smoked haddock was dry and the risotto almost tasteless. My wife's chicken was similarly overcooked. What was terrible was the setting. My wife does not like eating outside because of insect bites so we decided to eat... More

Jims yard was recently visited on a trip to stamford and we would return again without hesitation. Good quality food, reasonably priced but fantastic service. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Beautiful little place tucked out the way; there was a lovely courtyard for eating out on summer evenings but we choose the conservatory which looked out... More

A beautiful little restaurant, hidden from all hussle and bustle. Food was glorious as well as the waiters and waitresses who were able to recommend good wines from the menu. Would definitely go again!

This was a surprise 30th wedding anniversary meal, from all our family, and was one of the nicest surprises we have ever had. We had never been before but we had had glowing reports from our daughter and son-in-law about how excellent it was. The service was second to none and we were looked after as soon as we stepped through... More

Surprise treat for us from our family. This was our first visit and we were very impressed. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the price of the food although not cheap was good value for the quality. I had the crispy duck starter with orange and beetroot salad which was delicious. My main was smoked haddock with risotto... More

I try to make Jim's Yard my place to eat when visiting Stamford, sadly not as often as I would like. The old photographs rescued from a skip bring back fond memories of Stamford as a child, oh yes and the food is good as well!

Took advantage of the Tues Wed Thurs dinner deal, three courses for £19.50 with others spotting this bargain the restaurant was reasonably full. The whitebait was a delicious starter very well flavoured on a dressed salad. Allison had sea bass as a main course whilst I had gammon both well cooked and accompanied by fresh asparagus from a local farm. This... More

Decided to revisit after our last visit some 5 years ago was a bit disapointing and we found out there has been not much improvement...We attended with my sister and brother in law and were asked if we would like a drink first, we thought what a good idea so a couple of beers a G&T and a J2O were...
