We smelt the wood smoke before seeing the lights of the inn through the November drizzle. Having cycled over the Quantock Hills since early that morning, we were filthy, wet and very cold and tired. The staff of the Blue Ball at Triscombe produced black sacks to protect the furniture and welcomed us around the enormous wood-burner with delicious hot... More

We were extremely worried about both the standard of food and service having read some of the reviews here and then discovering the pub had just been sold to new owners . . . we needn't have worried, though, as we had a wonderful time! There was plenty of choice on the menu and some of the dishes were really... More

We were in the Quantocks for a day with the dogs. We had a lovely walk up on the top of the hills around " Dead ladies ditch", and we're looking for somewhere for lunch. We had been told about The Blue Ball in Triscombe and thought we would give it a go. It,s just a short drive down the... More

My wife booked a table to celebrate my birthday so we were really looking forward to it. The restaurant is located in a beautiful location but for some inexplicable reason, lacks atmosphere. We duly arrived shortly before 7.00pm as agreed and ordered some drinks including a pint of the local bitter. Despite this being at the beginning of the evening... More

Food was very good, plenty of parking, but shame about such poor service, which is down to management, never asked if we wanted the wine list and everything was labourisly slow...nice idea to have a stair lift for the infirm among us, lovely setting and cosy interesting restaurant. Would not go again though. Great view if you can get a table... More

The Blue Ball is a very pretty Inn in a quiet rural location. The food is very good (albeit would be nice to have more than one vegetarian option). The staff were helpful and attentive and not over-bearing. The draft ale and cider were excellent!

Popped here on a whim as it was a sunny evening. Beautiful thatched inn in a quiet hamlet.the inside is quite small (7/8 tables) but that's a plus in my view and after crossing a wooden bridge from the pub, you are in a beautiful tiered garden with 8 or so tables and a family of bantams running around your...
