My wife booked a table to celebrate my birthday so we were really looking forward to it. The restaurant is located in a beautiful location but for some inexplicable reason, lacks atmosphere. We duly arrived shortly before 7.00pm as agreed and ordered some drinks including a pint of the local bitter. Despite this being at the beginning of the evening... More

Food was very good, plenty of parking, but shame about such poor service, which is down to management, never asked if we wanted the wine list and everything was labourisly slow...nice idea to have a stair lift for the infirm among us, lovely setting and cosy interesting restaurant. Would not go again though. Great view if you can get a table... More

The Blue Ball is a very pretty Inn in a quiet rural location. The food is very good (albeit would be nice to have more than one vegetarian option). The staff were helpful and attentive and not over-bearing. The draft ale and cider were excellent!

Popped here on a whim as it was a sunny evening. Beautiful thatched inn in a quiet hamlet.the inside is quite small (7/8 tables) but that's a plus in my view and after crossing a wooden bridge from the pub, you are in a beautiful tiered garden with 8 or so tables and a family of bantams running around your... Always a pleasure to visit this historic establishment on top of Countisbury Hill. Great location for walk to cliffs. Our dog always welcomed by resident dogs. A pity the staff look so scruffy as if they have just got out of bed though.Food always as expected.

Thank you for your kind words, but we think you've posted to the wrong place. We're not sure where Countisbury Hill is, nor are we near any cliffs. We have plenty of Hills though, and we would love to welcome you some time. Take care. More

Superb setting, great food. The dessert menu is particularly inventive and luscious. The food all seems to be locally produced and seasonal. The menus are fresh each time we go so we always have something different to choose from. Quite simply, if we want a special meal for a special event then the blue ball is always our first choice

Oh wow what a beautiful, quiet country location. The old inn is gorgeous and so too are the rooms. Dinner was delicious and then in the morning so too was the full English breakfast. Don't miss the smoked bacon and black pudding sausages. The staff are lovely too. Be careful if you arrive after 2:30pm as the pub is closed... More

The Blue Ball Inn is one of the prettiest pubs I have been to. With its thatched roof, beer garden and views of the Quantock Hills, it definitely has the wow factor on arrival. My partner and I had booked a table for 2 and it was nice that on arrival it had already been laid out including a jug... More
