Tucked away between civic and commercial quarters this is good honest & pure (amala in Thai) food - inexpensive and clean!

I visited Amala Thai on Valentines Day with my partner, and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to return with my daughters! As we live about 25 miles away we decided to wait for a special occasion - my birthday. Unfortunately it looks as though we will now be visiting more often, as we all loved everything about Amala... Went here for my friend's birthday, in a fair sized group. The service was fantastic, the guy who served us spoke to us each individually to ensure they would cook our dishes to our liking, and give us any help if we weren't sure. The food was delicious, and the wine was one of the best I have tasted -... More

Literally just returned from Amala. Wow what a place. Firstly the staff are second to none, really attentive & happy to recommend dishes. The menu is varied, but not too big. The food is outstanding & not too pricy. The portions are massive too, so be careful not to over order. Drinks menu is great & again, not overly expensive.... More

Had an absolutely stunning meal here last night. Have eaten Thai food in many places around the world and this was as good as any I have had incuding in South East Asia. The menu is full of unique dishes and we were spoilt for choice when ordering. We were even tempted with dessert and the selection of homemade ice... More

Visited for the first time and went straight back the next day!! The quality of the food was honestly fantastic with original choices of homemade desserts. The chocolate wasabi brownie was delicious, it has to be tried to be believed. No rating can be high enough to describe the experience. Not only is the food incredible, the staff are extremely... March may have been unusually cold but the welcome at the Amala was warm like a ray of spring sunshine. We allowed the owner to guide us with flavours and drinks and like our previous visits his choices were just right. He did not take advantage by selecting the most expensive items on his menu but he thoughtfully enquired about... More

My husband and I had the Thai Banquet for 2 and we loved every dish we had, which were all delicious and plentiful. The service was perfect - not too fast or slow and very professional and friendly. There was a good atmosphere and it was quite a busy night for a very cold Tuesday. I will certainly be going... More
