Two friends, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed an excellent fish and chips meal at Kingfisher on Tuesday evening this week. For just £8, we had fish and chips, tea, and bread and butter, which we thought was great value. We soon found a table in spite of the place being busy and service was speedy and pleasant. However, we... More

It’s nearly two years since I did a review on the Kingfisher and the quality of food remains as high as ever, how they keep this standard on a regular basis has got to be down to the management and staff and buying top quality fish. Keep up the good work Kingfisher it makes our trip from South Yorkshire well... More

These fish and chips are probably the best I have ever had. I am a regular customer here but was really disappointed the other night when I called for the families fish & chip supper. The girl that was serving was really miserable and off hand with the people she was serving. Okay, we can all have an off day... More

Always a dilemma for fish and chip lovers. Anyway, imagine you are a poor soul having to stay overnight near junction 39 of the M1 (Cedar Court Hotel or Holiday Inn Express), and you want some tea (aka "dinner" in other parts of the world). Or maybe you are that very poor soul. You could eat in the hotel I... More

Called in today for fish and chips and ate in the restaurant ordered regular portion with mushy peas they were excellent when you tasted them you could tell that they are fried in dripping just like fish and chips used to taste like, and good value desserts will visit again.

We regularly eat here and find the food consistently good and always freshly cooked. Value for money you can't go wrong with fish chips, bread, butter, tea or coffee costing £8. The big appeal for us is that kids eat free as well. We can have a nice meal out for four of us at under £20. Staff are always... More

I can't say this is the best fish and chip shop I've been to, but it's up there and I haven't been to one recently that can match Kingfisher's prices. If you like proper Yorkshire fish n chips (haddock), this is a great value restaurant with reasonable size portions. Flavour of haddock was excellent, service friendly and good. Parking is... More

Eaten at Kingfisher several times and never been disappointed. Excellent fish and chips, kids eat free with a paying adult, great atmosphere and excellent staff, a winner all way round.

We always use the Kingfisher for our Fish & Chip take aways. The flavour and quality are consistent and at a reasonable price. The size of the fish has reduced a little over the last few months but I would guess that this is due to keeping the costs down to the customer.
