My wife and I use the restaurant very regularly, as a couple and with our grandkids, the staff are excellent and friendly, the food is excellent and reasonably priced, it's always popular and frequently busy. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

For fish and chips this is probably the best you'll ever eat in Yorkshire if not England! Perfectly cooked chips, white meaty haddock in light crispy batter, and tasty mushy peas. Excellent!!!

We frequently visit this restaurant due to the consistently excellent quality of the food. The chips are always exceptionally fresh & never soggy, as is the fish. There are deals for kids & OAPs. Service is quick & friendly. There is a take away next door which is equally as good. Parking can be an issue so try & go... More

We have used the kingfisher many times down the years both restaurant & take away & still think that the best fish n chips in the wakefield area are kingfishers, the batter is always crisp & the taste of the haddock used is as good as anywhere including our favourite (more expensive)seaside haunts in whitby. the head fryer deserves an... You cannot get fish anywhere that is so good very white and delicious . Been twice this week and even recognised a famous football... More

Lovely fish and chips and non greasy our clean plates weren't greasy at all which is always a good sign. Great value pensioners meals (for my parents) and £8 for fish chips bread and butter and tea was very good value. As other reviewer state parking was a problem.

Whether you want take away or eat in then the same quality applies this well know long standing eatery has always delivered a consistent fresh quality product every time we stop by, which is quite frequent. Went to get take away to then get home and find my fish cake covered with soggy dripping batter and the layers of potato in the cake severely undercooked and crunchy along with anaemic chips. Service was okay, but does not live upto the hype and I will find my fish cakes else where!

Have called at the King Fisher and eaten both in and outside . Always very nice fish and chips friendly staff . The only problem and it is not the café fault and that's Parking not a lot of room . Highly recommend the food here though .
