Advisable to book due to limited space which creates an intimate atmosphere. Very well trained young, personable staff, an excellent chef (probably throws wobblies in the kitchen), good wine list and interesting menu even for a veggie like me.Lots of locals which is a good sign. We have been 4 times.

We had a delicious meal at La Fortezza on Friday evening (26 Sept). I can definitely recommend the sea bass, it was very good. The wine list is quite extensive too and they have my favourite Zinfandel Rose... bonus! The restaurant is a tiny place but the ambience is great. It is an ideal venue for a romantic meal and... This is my second visit, the first with a larger group. Both times is has been busy with aprox. 12 tables. I would say that we all enjoyed our meals and found the service both polite and friendly. Typical Italian menu with a selection of pizza, pasta & meat dishes. Well worth a visit if you're stopping at the St.... More

Maybe we were unlucky? Having not eaten here for a couple of years we had read some good reviews and booked in. Although the service was very good, we were disappointed with some of our chosen dishes and the table we were sat at meant the waiters were continually squeezing past his chair and back - not quite what most... The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone ranging from pizza and pasta at less than £10 per head or specials like fresh fish and seafood. The restaurant is intimate only seating around 30 people and I suggest if you want to dine at a weekend you book well in advance. The service was very good and the... More

I wanted to book a small intimate Italian restaurant for my daughters 21st for just close family and I wasn't disappointed. Amanda was amazing with all my queries and questions. They trimmed the whole restaurant up for my daughter. The tables were set out perfectly as the tree in the centre of the tables was all lit up and we... More

Having visited many times over several years,it was the first choice for my birthday on 9th September. We ordered our usual choices and my husband's was fine. But,oh what a disappointment for me! The minestrone soup was not the same recipe but was tomato based, well I can live with that, as things have to change! However the sauce for... More

My wife and I visited the above Restaurant on sunday the 7th of September to celebrate our 51st Wedding anniversary, and we cannot praise it enough. For our starter we chose the Scallops with King Prawn and caviar which was out of this world for taste, we then chose the Chicken in Red wine, and once again the taste and... More
