I wanted to book a small intimate Italian restaurant for my daughters 21st for just close family and I wasn't disappointed. Amanda was amazing with all my queries and questions. They trimmed the whole restaurant up for my daughter. The tables were set out perfectly as the tree in the centre of the tables was all lit up and we... More

Having visited many times over several years,it was the first choice for my birthday on 9th September. We ordered our usual choices and my husband's was fine. But,oh what a disappointment for me! The minestrone soup was not the same recipe but was tomato based, well I can live with that, as things have to change! However the sauce for... More

My wife and I visited the above Restaurant on sunday the 7th of September to celebrate our 51st Wedding anniversary, and we cannot praise it enough. For our starter we chose the Scallops with King Prawn and caviar which was out of this world for taste, we then chose the Chicken in Red wine, and once again the taste and... More

Was taken to La Fortezza by wife and family for a quiet birthday meal. What a lovely place; not in the least pretentious, good solid Italian food, good choice of wines, attentive and friendly staff, attractive location, great value and plenty of parking. Need to book as there are only a few tables which helps give it an intimate ambience.... More

We visited with friends for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the friendly welcome from the staff, the food was gorgeous with very generous portion sizes. We each had 3 courses with wine, there's so much to choose from and they offer gluten free pizza and pasta. Thank you everyone at La Fortezza

Visited this fantastic Italian after a walk around Newmillerdam and we were not disappointed. We hadn't booked but were seated very quickly. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to accommodate our young daughter; adapting the menu to suit her. The food is fresh, cooked to order and there is a great choice on the menu. All in all... More

Went for birthday meal. The food was average and nothing you couldn't make at home. Everything was straight from the freezer and the 1980s. The restaurant is tacky, the staff ok but not knowledgeable. The wine was pleasant but served too warm for a white wine. The dessert menu was a list of frozen treats with a nice picture of... More

Well what can we say. We went tonight for a birthday meal and it was, at best, distinctly average. If you like 1980's Italian menu with paper napkins. Yes. PAPER napkins in a restaurant. It will be everything you expect with absolutely no surprise. So for staters. I had the pate. Very dense but tasty. The ravioli was claggy and... More
