Came in about 1:30 on a Saturday and got the last table. Service was a little slow which is not surprising given how busy they were. Staff were friendly and there was so much choice, really something for everyone. We had two wraps, a salmon and prawn one and a pepper and feta one. They were really fresh and tasty... More

Visited this pub five times during a recent 2 week business stay nearby. The food is excellent and very consistent. The menu is varied and the service good. The staff are friendly and overall welcoming. I would recommend, pay a visit, enjoy the food, service and cask beers.

We came off the motorway intending to go somewhere else but were we glad we found this fabulous establishment. The food was excellent & the staff were a credit. If we are ever passing again we wouldn't hesitate to eat here.

First visit to this pub/restaurant and I have to say it is one of the best meals I have tasted in a long long time. The service was second to none, atmosphere of a good old English pub and a good selection of drinks. The menu also had an excellent variety to suit all tastes. The food was served within... More

After a day out with friends at The Yorkshire Sculpture park we looked for a pub nearby and came across The British Oak. We sat outside as the weather was nice and it was a lovely beer garden with a great play park for children. The car park was quite small for the size of the pub and we were... More

Visited here on Saturday night for an early dinner, on a recommendation from a friend. We had booked a table earlier in the day, the pub was very busy with most tables occupied by diners. The menu is typical pub food but with a very extensive choice on all courses. There was good cask beer and decent selection of wine.The... More

Visited the British Oak on a Friday tea time and staggered upon one of Wakefields hidden secrets, The food was fantastic, home cooked meals in generous portions not like these chain restaurants. A menu to suit all tastes and a desert board to die for. As a person who likes a beer or two I was pleasantly surprised to see they... More

This is a traditional English pub which serves great food from an extensive menu. Check out the on line menu on their web site we did and we're able to make our choices before we arrived. They also have a selection of real ale's so if you like a good pint of beer you won't be disappointed. We would recommend... More
