Lovely home cooked food and very friendly service

Discovered this restaurant by accident on the way back to our hotel last Saturday, we liked the sound of the menu so we asked if we could book a table for that night. The owner said that they were very busy but if we didn't mind waiting until around 8:30pm he would arrange a table for us - I am... read more

We have visited this restaurant so many times over the years for numerous occasions and celebrations and it never fails to deliver a friendly, helpful service, lovely homecooked food, an extensive menu with competitive prices, along with 3 course set menus which are fabulous value. Everybody that walks through the door becomes this family business friend...its always a pleasure to... More

First visit here for lunch and yes the place is dated and abit stuck in the 70s/80s but the food was nice and plentiful they serve huge portions , owners and staff are so lovely and friendly nothing is to much trouble. If you want good old fashioned grub then this is the place. I will definately return.

We decided to have lunch on a whim and nipped across the road to The Blue Lagoon. The food was wonderful and plentiful too. To be honest we ate so much we nearly had to have an afternoon nap. Well worth a visit. It is a great place even if the décor is a little dated. If you loved old... More

Like some other reviewers, we had also not been to the Blue Lagoon for quite sometime. Feeling nostalgic, we decided to go on a windy wet night. First surprise was, that unlike some other empty restaurants in the town centre there was a good level of customers inside. Greeting was warm and friendly and that set the tone for the... More

Was amazed at getting a booking at very short notice! upon arriving the staff were jolly and super friendly and actually seemed like they were enjoying their job! The food was good more than enough, homemade chips was a massive bonus nowt better than home made chips! worth a visit

Haven't been for 34 years, it was a group of 12 friends. Very warm welcome and friendly staff. It was a busy evening (last Friday before Christmas) but that didn't affect service. Food was good, most of party had chosen from the tea-menu and it was typical chicken Parmo, scampi, cod, roast. I chose from standard menu, chicken Oscar, and... More

Heard good things about this place but thought deco rather dated. We both ordered chicken kiev. It was ok but thats all i can say. It came with a very poor salad & chips. I' m sorry to say i wasnt impressed.

Every time I visit the staff are friendly even though im an annoying orderer who changes things its never a trouble. The chicken kiev is my favourite and the chips are gorgeous too. Looking forward to the next visit

I've walked passed this restaurant various times over the years yet this was my first visit - I will be back though. The staff are so sweet and the food was remarkably lovely. I really enjoyed it and made sure I had 3 courses since it was so cheap. Cannot fault it. I left full of food and content. The... More
