This little place is an old classic and is well known in the town and has been for many years. Beautiful home cooked food at a reasonable price and very friendly waitresses. Only slight downside is that it could do with modernising a little. All in all I recommend this gem!

I first visited this family run restaurant as an 17 year old, back when! The decorations may have changed over the years but the food has remained excellent. The two brothers who run it are really good hosts, contributing to a very fine experience. The fresh vegetables and home made chips are really tasty, complimenting the main course. Consistently good... More

The staff were very welcoming and the food was spot on - the roast dinner was especially gorgeous. We also tried the jam roly poly it was made the old fashioned way it was beautiful. Well worth a visit!

First time I'd ever been here & looking forward to going again. Celebrated my birthday here with some family & the food was delicious. Lots to choose from on the menu... The 3 fillet steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection. Homemade chips were gorgeous & the kids fish n chips went down a treat! Definitely recommend.

My Husband had never been to the Blue Lagoon and it was recommended by one of his work colleagues, and it just so happens we were in Darlington to pay our holiday to America and wanted to somewhere luxurious to dine for our mid-afternoon lunch. My husband suggest the Blue Lagoon, It was exquisite, set amongst the exclusive shopping area... More

Visited the Blue Lagoon many times in the Seventies and early Eighties, when Dad was the proprietor and the boys were the waiters. Fast forward 25 years and being in Darlington there was only one place to go on a wet April evening - the Blue Lagoon. now the boys are the proprietors, but it really hasn't changed. In particular... Have not been to this restaurant for many years ( 1980s, early 1990s), we always had lovely meals then and we were not disappointed tonight. Not sure why we left it so long!!! Beautiful food, lovely atmosphere and very warm welcome. Decor has not changed much but this adds to its charm. I believe the restaurant opened in the early... More

Came here as a group, no one could fault their meals; starters and mains were plentiful and really enjoyable, huge portions and excellent service. Will definitely go back- thank you!

Loved the Moussaka, instead of Aubergines, sliced potato made for a North East twist on the usual. Really friendly atmosphere. It feels like you are in a family hotel on the Algarve instead of one of the sterile. 'chains' that we see all too often these days. 5 of us ate for under £100 - two course and a drink... More
