I have been to the george many times and last night there was live music, the two barmen were lively and made mine and my wives night the best night weve had in a long time!! Hats off to them for having a lively attitude and good laugh with the paying customers!

Took our family to this restaurant to celebrate our Ruby Wedding , everything was lovely. The staff were friendly and efficient and catered to all our needs. The food was cooked beautifully and piping hot, we all had clean plates. The price for home cooked food was very reasonable we will be back.

Visited bank holiday and the food and service was excellent. Plates were full of homemade food, price reasonable for the ample serving that we got. Will be back.

The food was good and plenty on all our plates. Unfortunately we were seated in the bar near the exit to the kitchen, which was not exactly perfect for a birthday party, especially having two children in the group. The staff were pleasant and did close the outer door when we said it was cold. When we booked we were... More

we visited at lunchtime and had the roast of the day which was roast beef with yorkshire pudding, the meat, yorkshire pud and roast potatoes came on the plate followed by a serving dish with the vegetables, broccoli, carrots and green beans, a jug of gravy which was made from meat juices and not instant granules, delicous! We booked for lunch, it was very busy, so we waited a while to be served. We had roast pork, and roast lamb, with loads of nice veg, and a large home made Yorkshire pudding. It was very good, huge portions for £9.50 each, couldn't manage a desert afterwards. Would go again.

Our first visit to this restaurant but it will not be the last.it is equally as good if not better than most of the so called starred restaurants, the service is friendly , as well as professional. We had prawns for starters that were as good as anything I have ever had as well as being very reasonably priced, for... More

Pub grub at its best, as good as any 5 star places. Brilliant mixed grill. Good selection of beers and lagers and all at a great price. This place is well worth a visit.

Enjoyed a meal here for my 50th birthday and was excellent - I had prawns to start and rib eye steak followed by eaton mess. We both had three courses and 4 pints and glass of wine and bill came to £68.00. Service was excellent and food arrived quickly and was freshly cooked.
