I took my wife to The Tapas Bar for lunch today, while the kids went off with nanna to the soft play area in the Dolphin centre. Everything about it was just spot on. There you are, in the middle of Darlington, and here's this quaint little place full of atmosphere. We went for 'Tapas for two' to save us... More

Visited The Tapas bar for the second time on a recent visit to Darlington. The place hasn't lost any of its charm. I love the feel of this restaurant - you could almost be on holiday. We had a Greek Mezze platter this time around and it was delicious, and more than enough! Will certainly return here in future, hopefully... More

Fantastic, we had 12 tapas dishes between a family of four and all were fantastic. Perfectly cooked and well presented. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and real ale too. All in all we will defo return.

The Tapas Bar offers a friendly environment with tasty food. We were a group of 6 and opted for the set menu which we all found tasty and plenty of food. Will be back.

Once over this was the place to be in Darlington but recently it's begun to feel a bit stagnant. Food is average and a little pricey for what it is. Think it's time for the old yard to review what they are REALLY offering and shake up the menu somewhat. I had to laugh at the Fava billed as a... More

We were in a side room with a private party. There's not much room inside the pub as it's quite narrow. It also gets very packed no matter what time. Food is very good I kept going back for more. Especially the potatoes. The wine is around £5 per glass which I think is expensive! And it isn't that nice.... More

I have been to this place a lot and it's always been ok however their outdoor facilities are beyond diabolical plastic wine glasses and carafe which to a certain extent I could sympathise with were they not stained beyond belief my main concern was as drinking my beakered pinot the stain disappeared :( not something that encourages the appetite nor... Unfortunately we are bound by Darlington Borough Councils pavement cafe policy and conditions, as are all town centre outside terrace spaces. As they do not allow glass outside we have to serve and decant all drinks in plastics. If we don't follow the conditions the licensing department of Darlington Borough Council will withdraw the license to allow us to operate... More

I usually go to The Tapas Bar on an evening, but this was a rare lunch time outing. The food was as gorgeous as usual, the whitebait was beautiful, greek salad was lovely and the stuffed deep fried peppers were lovely too.. Atmosphere was lovely, sat outside in the sunshine. Still a firm favourite of mine.
