Went here on Poole bike night and ordered calamari for my Wife and I had megrim. The place was not particularly busy and we waited for over an hour to receive our order. I complained and said we were leaving after people on another table who arrived after us received their meals before we did. The obstreperous landlord intervened and... More

I took my niece to Poole Quay for a fun night of entertainment and fireworks last Thursday. We found some of my friends sat outside the Portsmouth Hoy so decided to join them. We both needed to visit the ladies room so in we went. I was absolutely appalled when a man followed us into the ladies toilet and aggressively... More

Called in here earlier tonight for a pre dinner pint ( we're staying at the RNLI College). The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, however, just after we sat down this chap, who I assumed to be the landlord or similar, breezed over and literally threw down a couple of menus. I said we weren't eating, just having a... More

Grandchildren had never tasted seafood. Bob Kerr (the "governor") and his team at the Poole Arms put on, by request, a Lobster, crab, Oyster and prawn lunch extravaganza. Besides being visually impressive the price was modest and my grandchildren are spoiled for life!! Thanks to all at the Poole Arms, and very well done. Tony S

My partner and I were visiting Poole for the weekend. We called in on the Saturday lunch time to see the menu and decided to try the Ploughman's lunch. She had the gammon and I had the cheese, asking for some Cheddar and some Stilton. The gammon came with a hard boiled egg, crusty bread and salad. The cheese came... More

Lunchtime drop-in with a desire for seafood inspired by an wonderful boat trip around Poole Harbour. Sat outside and had an excellent meal of moules marineres and fish pie. The mussels were well cooked and succulent with a delightful sauce which was enthusiastically mopped up with fresh crusty bread. The fish pie was a similar delight with a lovely variety... More

Stumbled across this little Gem during a business trip. Traditional pub with a good value fish menu. Had the Seabass which was so nice I returned the following evening and tried the Salmon which was even better I only wish I was staying another night and I would try the fish stew. Reasonably priced and fair size portions that didnt... More

This pub has a great frontage and is located perfectly on Poole quay. Its very much a traditional small pub. I normally don't eat any fresh fish other than shellfish but I was tempted by their boneless Cajun catfish fillets and they were nothing less than perfect. We asked about fries as they aren't on the menu but were told... More
