Proper old pub

Don't come here if you're expecting a plastic quay side bar, this is a real old pub, but they do have a coffee machine !! Nice seating area outside. If you're lucky Dan will be working..... Only young, but a great sense of humour. For any males, a visit to the toilet is a must.... Hahaha

Amazing food ambience and value Had a superb crab salad prepared to,perfection. It really was the best ever and enjoyed in the oldest pub on the quay. Well done team and especially the young lad behind the bar. A charming smile, so helpful and that makes for excellent service ! Have a great season team Trudy and Irene

We sat outside this lovely old pub as the wonderful tiled frontage really attracted us. Our crab sandwiches were excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Really quaint and some really lovely old photos inside. A taste of Poole in days gone by. Nothing trendy just an original pub. Great?

We stopped in here for a meal on Bike Night and had a lovely meal. The menu is mainly fish and there is a wide range to choose from. Service was a little patchy and the waitress not particularly smiley or attentive. No music, TV's or distractions which is excellent.

We had no idea which pub to choose at the last minute but were taken by the menu so gave it a go! Boy, we were not disappointed, beer sampled was Proper Job from St Austell and cider on draught, both well looked after. Staff very welcoming especially young lad behind the bar. Starters were salted squid and chilli, yum!... More

Popped in for a drink with friends late Sunday afternoon after buying our drink we were told we could not sit at any of the empty tables as they were reserved for customers eating. This is fine and I understand the need to keep tables for people wanting to eat but there was nobody waiting to sit there and eat.... More

What a cosy welcoming friendly and oh so English spot! My husband and I were visiting Poole, and chose having inspected the menu to visit the Poole Arms for our evening meal. The food was a delight - the fish wonderfully fresh - and the servings abundant. Over and above this was the service. Debbie, the waitress was so kind,... More

Unassuming green-tiled exterior and small inside but tremendous local seafood food and delicious beer. Try the Dorset bouillabaisse! Top marks especially to Debbie for her help and service.

Looks like a simple pub but has a fantastic, no fuss, menu of classy and great value seafood. My friend had the fish soup and loved it. I had grilled sardines and loved them. Just what you'd hope for. We both had whole local plaice cooked on the bone with a selection of fresh vegetables. I love great fish cooked... More
