If you are a fish lover then this is it! Even the landlord looks like a fish! Its great try the fish casserole its outstanding. Don't expect chips here or you might get yours. It is more restaurant than pub when busy so don't be disappointed if you are just drinking and asked to give way to eaters.

The Poole Arms always delivers. Fantastic variety of fresh fish. The bass fillet was great with just the right amount of chilli to tickle the tongue. and we’re told the mature cheddar ploughmans is up to standard. Once again a very repeatable lunchtime.

Good old fashioned pub - very friendly (staff and clientele) - serves excellent Ringwood beer and reasonably priced wines. It only serves fish and this it does very well. Simple menu. Unlike other eateries which have a huge menu with OK food this concentrates on fish and cooks and serves it well. Superb value - go up the road for... More

I moved to Poole last year and often drink on the quay although this was the first and last time I use the Poole arms. Went in for a drink on nov 5 which everywhere was busy as fireworks on the quay, ordered 2 drinks which at £10 definitely was not cheap and sat down at a table to enjoy... More

I Dont usually eat seafood, but the food is so fantastic here, that I made an exception. I ordered the sea bass, which was easily one of the best meals Ive ever had. Staff are quick, helpful and friendly. Overall a great little pub with a quality menu and a lovely atmosphere, I will definitely be returning.

i don't normally write reviews but loved this place and felt it deserved it. It's a proper pub with Ringwood ales, no children allowed in the bar and a quality menu. We initially only wanted a sandwich for lunch and they have a separate sandwich menu which is great. I do get fed with places that put 3 crisps and... More

Good standard pub fayre to had at the Poole arms. There are some decent pubs on Poole quay; we generally visit the "rough and ready" delights of the Lord Nelson if just visiting for a drink but opt for the Poole Arms if we want food as well. Good sized but cosy pub. Clean and traditional decor. Staff have always... More

We have just enjoyed an excellent tasty lunch at the Poole Arms. On entering you immediately notice the enticing garlicky fishy smell which guarantees that you feel ready to eat even if you weren't feeling that hungry. Service was good and reasonably quick but not excessively so and the food arrived piping hot. This is not the first time we... More

THE GOOD: The food, seafood at its best in one of the only traditional Poole pubs still relatively untouched. THE BAD: It's expensive, the food's worth it but it's take it or leave it with regards tables, position in the bar etc.. book beforehand. THE UGLY: The Gents toilets. You have to go out of the building and down an... More
