Delicious seafood by the sea

This is the kind of pub you wish would be around forever. Seeing all the pubs of Poole being slowly taken over by chains is depressing but this little nugget is holding fast to the rock! Two of us ate here and chose dishes from a vast selection of tempting offerings. We ended up with a pint of... read more

We recently visited the Poole Arms on Poole Quay and must say that it was a fantastic night out. The staff were really friendly, the Landlord lovely and the food was superb! Best pub on Poole Quay and well worth a visit. A welcome break for those of us who are locals - good on you!!!

if you love sea food, this is the place to eat. Excellent food, (not a chip in sight) fresh seafood all locally caught, delivered straight to your table. Staff are welcoming and polite. Adults only, so no crying, noisy children to spoil your delicious meal. It's a real delight to eat there, no distracting music to spoil your conversation.

I visited with my mum on Thursday evening before the fireworks and the pub felt really cosy. It also felt like a traditional pub and had a friendly atompshere. The staff are friendly and helpful too! Will defiantly visit in the near future!

We went here for an early evening drink. This was our first ever visit and will definitely be our last. Maybe I am old fashioned, but to see a landlord/owner sitting on the customers side of the bar and downing pints of beer, sends out the wrong message to me. We entered at 19:35 and ordered two large glasses of... More

On holiday in the area and my husband always seeks out real ale pubs. Seemed to be a fair choice but chose this as the oldest pub in Poole. Good location on the harbour with outside seating. Menu looked interesting and reasonably priced but we just wanted a drink. My husband asked recommendation for his type of beer and the... More

We called in to the Poole Arms today as we fancied a nice glass of sauvignon blanc and a dozen oysters. The oysters came. Looks fine. No bread so asked for bread to go with the oysters, which was charged for! I had 2 bad oysters. It can happen. It's no body's fault, just a fact of life. Obviously I... More

Had an impromptu stop for some muscles at 4 in the afternoon, ended up having a 3 course meal. What a delight, food amazing, service faultless and the atmosphere relaxing. Can't praise it enough, even to the fact the waitress new exactly when and where the fish was cought. Highly recommend.

The food was superb. I was in seafood heaven and enjoyed some starters as a sort of tapas. So I heartily recommend the excellent 6 oysters and the chilli and pepper squid. This hostelry though has something else to recommend it, namely real ales. New to the area I asked the staff the difference between the two ales on offer.... More

This unique looking pub is a real find on the Quay. Relaxing old pub atmosphere with background music at the right level so you can still chat! Staff very friendly and helpful We chose off the specials board - oven baked hake with pesto and black olive crust with seasonal veg. Absolutely fantastic! Good local beer and NZ wine too... More
