Food was not very good. Overcooked pasta, chips. Chicken Kiev was bizarre and has affected my wife rather unfavourably. Hamburger was good though. Their menu needs a makeover.

Early in the day so just called in for a hot chocolate and tea cake. Not to long to wait for service as it was very quiet. If you are lucky enough to book a table it is best to ask for a window table. This place has tried to maintain an upmarket atmosphere over the years and we were... More

Had a lovely Saturday lunch at the Boatshed in Poole Park. We had a table right by the window from which you can see the wild birds (cormorants, swans, ducks, etc.) in the lake. Food was very tasty, with a good choice. The service was attentive and all of the staff were very friendly. Will definitely go back.

A lovely traditional Sunday roast. Plenty of it and beautifully cooked. Would definitely go back.. Ideal venue for families but equally enjoyable for oldies.

My friends & I booked a pre theatre meal here well in advance, around the same time my family also booked to have a Christmas day lunch, for 12 people. My family received an email to the effect that as the restaurant had changed hands they were not in fact opening on 25/12, which put us out considerably, at that... More

We visited today for lunch as a family of four. The setting is very nice, next to the lake with nice views from the tables. However, as long as you are happy to sit and sit and sit and wait and wait and wait to be served your drinks, ours took 30 minutes to arrive and we only got them... More

We found the boatshed by chance whilst visiting Poole. It is in nice postion in the park which is only short distance from the town centre. The menu is varied and well priced. We had wraps and ciabata which was served with fries, coleslaw and salad. The presentation and friendly service was excellent. The toilets and everywhere was very clean and there was nothing... More

A great lunchtime venue and a second visit. Although their menu advises, “Dorset mussels, cooked in either garlic and white wine (marinière) or rich tomato, chilli & lemon grass sauce..”, the marinière had a very heavy addition of cream which was not expected or too welcome. The tomato, chilli & lemon grass went down well with our chilli expert and... More

We went for lunch today having been to this restaurant a few times previously. It turned out to be complete rubbish. My wife ordered soup and was told this was unavailable so ordered a shared camembert, I ordered Thai fish cakes. The camembert was obviously a supermarket one heated up in the basket it came in and the sources probably... More

Called in with a friend for coffee by the lake - but instead plumped for pumpkin and parmesan soup with iced water and lemon. (Much the same price as two coffees!) Best soup we ever tasted, piping hot, spiced up with herbs and served in large dishes - a real meal in itself, together with wholemeal bread and a proper... More
