Being so impressed (and angry that my brother stole my remaininh curry i had saved) me and my family have ordered again the following day and yet again fantastic food, very fast delivery and oh did i mention FREE... This is certainly a small restaurant in the High Street (right next to the Tesco Express). Service was quick and the staff, efficient and friendly. We had no long waits or problems. Food ordered was prompt and nicely cooked. Certainly reasonable portions, not huge but reasonable. The food was tasty and we had no problems with any of it. Empty... More

Last visited 9 months ago also during a Gourmet Evening. Appreciate this time was a hot Summer night but there were only a total of 4 diners (including us) at peak time. Dhal soup starter was again good. However, the rest of the meal was dire. My friend and I both ordered chicken dishes and this establishment obviously downsizes portions... More

Was not overly impressed with the service or food quality but some nice clasic indian dishes. I would not chose to go there again any time soon.

There is lots of choice of restaurant in Stevenage Old Town, and plenty of choices for curry too (but there again, where isn't that the case these days!). The Taste of India is one of the better ones. It is quite small, so booking is advised. The decor is simple, and service understated but attentive, and the food is nicely... More

Taken here by friends who swear but the place. Food is good and service good too. A very small and cosy place if you like that sort of thing. Not the best curry in the old town but cheap as chips and worth a visit.

I've been to this Indian 3 times in the past 6 months and found it to be lovely food. The restaurant is small, so if you want to get in, best get it booked. The banquet nights are a bargain and still as tasty as the normal night food. I haven't personally experienced it to be any different. The staff... More

First visit to this restaurant during a busy Wednesday (gourmet) evening. We arrived at 8.30pm and had the only remaining table. Considering how bustling and noisy the place was the Manager and staff coped politely and efficiently. My friend and I ordered a selection of dishes to share at medium strength as he is not too fond of the hotter... More

Great tasting food and plenty to choose from on the menu, great value for money, the service on entry was a bit slow (hence the 4/5) but after ordering our drinks it was fine. Can't fault the food at all. With the bill you get a chocolate each which is a nice touch. Small little place, very polite staff. I... More
