Worth a visit, but not perfect

Visited with my partner this month. The restaurant itself is a boat moored up at the quay. Nice decor inside and good ambience on entering. Nice choices on the menu from classic to modern and a good wine list. I chose the tuna sashimi to start which was unusually presented and flavoursome. I had... read more

My husband and I returned here a few weeks ago and as usual, we cannot fault the service or the food. You are guaranteed a warm welcome and attentive service. The food is always wonderful. They are particularly good with fish and I had the halibut.Cooked to perfection. based on the Marina, it's a lovely place to have lunch or dinner.

We visited a few weeks ago for lunch and were really impressed. The welcome was genuine and you felt valued from the moment you walked into the restaurant. The menu selection was classical but there were a few twists also. I had a lovely terrine for starters and perfectly cooked pork belly to follow. My wife had crab and asparagus... More

We came here for a midweek treat. Some confusion over the menu as the dish my husband fancied on the menu outside wasn't on the menu we were given-they had forgotten to update it. Once we got over the disappointment we had a very nice evening. Food was good, service great and the setting cannot be beaten. The food had... More

The ambiance in this floating restaurant is exquisite, friendly staff and an excellent dining experience. The views across the river on an Ipswich evening will whet your appetite. They have good wine selection.

Mariners floats at the quay side. Don't be put off by the shabby-chic exterior (it's a boat exposed to the elements!). Inside it is all polished wood and starched, white table cloths. But the real attraction is the food - beautifully balanced dishes, beautifully presented. My salmon carpaccio starter and hake main were stunning! This truly is fine dining at... More

We had a very good meal but felt the service left a bit to be desired. Cutlery turned up late, bread turned up late and the waiting staff were not briefed on what was not available on the menu. Having said that my lobster salad followed by pigeon was excellent. My partner's mixed meat salad missed the smoked item but... More
