This time on business and the atmosphere was nice and the settings unique but the food was a bit bland. The wines are interesting but the menu was not. Not sure if I would try the place again. The starter was intriguing and I wish the main course would have been also.

Sadly our recent visit to The Mariners after many previous good ones, did not live up to expectations. There were a few things which really disappointed. The first was our entrance, where we were greeted with an incredible smell of cheese.....very smelly cheese which was left uncovered in one corner and proceeded to waft over throughout our meal. It smelt... More

Last night we had another great meal at the Mariners. Whether we visit with work or for pleasure, the food is consistently good, well prepared, well served and the approach of the staff is professional and friendly. The wine list is extensive and the staff know about the selection and are able to advise if necessary. As we leave we... More

Large work Christmas meal. We were on the upstairs deck, due to size too distributed in different sections which was a shame. Staff were attentive, polite and efficient. Starters were well received by all. Various mains ticked the boxes too. Personally my dessert was a tad bland but not enough to spoil whole thing. No big complaints here.

Attended with a group of work colleagues and was impressed by the restaurant from the moment I set foot on the gang plank. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the off. We were quickly seated and served. The food was wonderfully presented and flavoursome. The high level of service really adds to the overall experience at this restaurant and... More

We had a fantastic meal here. It's not too often that I am inspired by restaurant "Festive Menus" but this is a Christmas celebration meal with a difference. Such a nice welcome from very nice and courteous staff, who went out of their way to make us feel special. I have a nut allergy and went through the usual thing... More

This restaurant is full of romantic charm from the moment you step on board the boat. I went recently for a dinner with my partner, and it felt so special with the traditional tall candles and we enjoyed a bottle of champagne that the staff were extremely knowledgeable of. The menu is full of delicious French inspired choices, and I... More
