This just has to be the best restaurant in Ipswich. From the gleaming glass, sparkling silver and pristine white tablecloths & napkins to the courteous and helpful staff, not to mention the food! A tight ship is run by the Maitre d, Denis and the chef produces the most innovative dishes. A little bit of France in Suffolk. The set... More

Four of us ate here late one Saturday night. The friendly staff fitted us in at short notice, phoning me when a table became available. The food was exquisite, a great choice and some really unusual and seriously delicious seafood. One of the best meals we have ever had. I would go back in a heartbeat!

The Mariners was well worth the visit. It has an excellent atmosphere. The interior is well decorated which adds to the occasion. The food was very good as was the service. Some of the vegetable portions were smaller than some people would like but the food was exceptionally good and tasty. For a special occasion this was well worth the visit.... More

Once again the Mariners ( still prefer the old name, ill Punto ) delivers a top notch dining experience. From the friendly greeting, through to three fabulous courses of delicious and expertly crafted food. Tops was for sure the Queens Scallops, so tasty. Qualityt wine list, proper dining area ( not one of those noisy crowded hard floored bistro jobs... More

Lovely place to dine with that someone special. Service was great as usual, Food was pretty much average and just a little bit pricey, felt like they ripped me off. Little bit disappointed with our desserts and the cheese board, the grapes were old and bruised.

This is by far the best restaurant I have ever been to! The food was fabulous, the atmosphere and staff were just so fantastic! I had the most perfect evening and definitely recommend Mariners to everybody! I will, without a doubt, return in the future! The staff were superb in helping my new fiancé prepare his lovely romantic marriage proposal... More

We have been regular customers at this charming restaurant for many years - and have never had a meal that was less than excellent. The service has varied, but is now spot-on: a perfect combination of efficiency, attentiveness and friendliness. There is enough variety on the menu to ensure that there is something for everyone and the food is perfectly... More

Everything about this restaurant is nothing short of excellent..the location...the welcoming, friendly and efficient staff... but most of all, the food. My wife is a very accomplished chef in her own right and so we tend to go for the 'fine dining' type of restaurants to treat ourselves. We both really love fish and seafood in general and the menu... One of three restaurants in the same group, each very well decorated and serious about their offering. This is the only one on a ship. The evidence is that the French, who own and staff all three restaurants, still have a certain je ne sais quoi when it comes to what fine dining is all about. Not always in evidence... More

I have eaten several times at Mariners and am ambivalent about it. I have had one or two very good meals but often I have found it to be only average. On this most recent visit I was left feeling disappointed. I love mussels so was very happy to order them as a starter. The dish was extremely bland with... More
