We have family living in Ipswich and had seen and heard about Mariners many times. Finally we went last night . The dining area reminds me of the elegance of a 1st class Pullman dining car . The service was crisp , efficient and knowledgeable .Because they do not operate a sittings system we were able to enjoy a wonderful... More

We have eaten here at the Mariners ( Ill Punto ) many times over the years, Not once have we had a poor or substandard meal. Friday night continued in that tradition, excellent service, great food prepared from quality ingredients. Hard to fault. Our table of four had between us : The Queens Scallops and the Pate en croute as... More

Was taken here as a surprise for my birthday with family. The French man serving us was extremely knowledgable and courteous and service was fast and efficient. The food ,I had the seafood gratin and the veal were all cooked beautifully. The glass of desert wine I was given to accompany my desert was very moorish. Thank you to Mariners... More

We've been to Mariners with my husband for a dinner meal. Relaxing atmosphere, friendly and professional staff, rose and candlelight, and one of the best meal we ever had... What else can you expect for a perfect night out? My choices were queen scallops, duck confit and creme burly, and my husband opted for Mariners salad, huge steak and bavarois.... More

During our short visit to England, we ate in 5 good places of which this was the second from the bottom for providing an experience for us. The service was a bit sluggish, and many matters had to be requested separately. Wine selection was nice and food as such good. They were able to provide service quite nicely after I... More

A very good restaurant on an old gun boat in Ipswich Marina. The tables are well spaced, nicely laid out with real table clothes and napkins. The staff are very friendly, helpful and very well presented. We had a very nice dinner and found the food to be well prepared and presented to an excellent standard. The portions are a... More

We managed to get a table on a busy saturday night, staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere aboard the boat was warm and enticing. This is absolutely a perfect spot for an intimate meal, as even though there was a large party sat behind us is did not affect us one bit. Service was a little slow as it... More
