Two of us ate here one lunch time. We ordered from the lunch set menu, although the menu itself initially looks quite uninspiring, the food that comes certainly is not. Very high standards of presentation and quality, combined with a very high level of service and not to mention the fantastic setting makes for as good a lunch time experience... More

Mariners really has everything going for it , fabulous location overlooking the marina, the charm of the saloon and table settings, good value fixed price menu, unbelievable wine list, traditional impeccable service and stunning food. Experience has shown me that a restaurant packed on a weekday is usually a good sign and it was. We ordered from the extensive fixed... More

I had wished for some time to eat at The Mariner, having had wonderful meals - and overnight stays - at The Great House in Lavenham. The Mariner did not disappoint. The service was excellent, as was he menu. The food and wine were also of a very high order. I would happily go to Ipswich just have a meal... More

We ate here on a Wednesday night and there was a nice buzz about the place. We had the set menu and thoroughly enjoyed our starters and fishy mains of salmon with risotto and hake with cockles. Veg was included in the price and bread was replenished. Staff were friendly and seemed to genuinely care if you were having a... More

We have eaten at several places along the quay and we have always wanted to try here so decided to treat ourselves for our anniversary as it is on the pricey side. We were given a friendly greeting and the man who seated us at the table and brought our wine was friendly unlike the waiters who almost slung our... More

Hadn't visited since it was named Il Punto & had high expectations from last visits! To my great surprise, I think it's even got better if that's possible. My partner had never been previously & thoroughly loved it too. Food divine & could have chosen all of the dishes on the menu! Service impeccable & very friendly which is seldom... More

Went for dinner with my boyfriend and I was excited to be eating on a boat. We both ate off the set menu which had a lot of choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and thought everything was a reasonable price. We would definitely visit again!

Went here about 15 years ago, under a different name but the type of food hasn't changed (french cuisine). We went on a Saturday lunchtime where they had a set meal, everyone was really happy with their meal,my salmon was beautifully cooked, with plenty of crayfish to the dish & the sauce was lovely. The only criticism I have is you have to pay extra... The Mariners at Ipswich marina is an excellent choice if you are looking for something upmarket but not so ridiculously priced as to be restrictive. The boat has been converted in a very stylish way and the food and service was excellent. We booked for Tuesday night and it was surprisingly busy, so would definitely recommend booking if you plan... More

Mariners will give you an experience you will not forget. The atmosphere is romantic and classy; the food is excellent and the service outstanding. This is French savoir vivre to its best. Bravo to the Team!
