the woolpack's breakfast could possibly be the best in the town. the sausages, black pudding, and sauté potatoes were perfect. the bread was good quality. the only bad part of the food was that the bacon was incinerated and way over done. the staff were lovely and friendly and it is still a nice cosy pub in there like it... Great staff and lovely atmosphere. We spent a few hours here on a beautiful sunny day. Nice local beers and tasty food, always leave satisfied.

Having seen The Woolpack had overcome its hygiene problem and was now rated 5 stars we thought we would give it a go. Both our meals were served directly onto 'wooden boards' which I always find awkward to eat from and have my doubts it can be as hygienic as eating off a plate. The food was nice enough but... More

This is a great local pub: a bit rambling, friendly, cosy, tasty nosh, good coffee (though I wish they did large size), various wines by the glass - always a plus for a non beer drinker. Sometimes it's buzzing; others peaceful - both are good. Reasonably standard fare but well cooked with impressive raw ingredients. I have the impression that... More

We chose the Woolpack after reading the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We arrived at approx. 6:45pm on a Sunday, found a table and duly placed our order for 2 roast dinners. At 7pm, before we had received a food, a man placed a piece of paper on our table and proceeded to tell us that our table was "booked" for... More

The Woolpack has always been my local pub being just down the road from my house. Over the years it has changed hands a few times and has gone up and down in quality. Fortunately for us, it has once again been restored to its former glory. Located right by Christchurch park, the Wooly has a really good menu to... More

Cracking little pub by Christchurch Park. Loads of character with lots of nooks and crannies. Good range of meals on the standard menu and specials. The food was well-prepared and presented and tasted well above average. Highly recommended but you may be as well booking as it got very busy.

Having driven past this charming looking pub many times but never venturing in, it was meant to be when groupon offered a breakfast deal there. My wife and I got there as they opened at 09.30 and were greeted warmly by the Landlord. We told him we were redeeming the groupon voucher and he explained that it entitled us to... More

Popped in for a Sunday brunch, ended up staying way past I should've! Food was good pub fayre, staff were pleasant and the locals friendly (quite strange for Ipswich I hear!!) Its nice to find a pub that is well presented, but still knows that it is a pub and therefore is as nice a place to have a drink... More
