This is a lovely Gastro Pub, the new owners took over in October 2009 and have fantastic plans. They only serve locally brewed Bitter and Lager plus a great wine list. Mike is a fantastic chef and the staff are always friendly, smiling and helpful. Lots of space for private parties or meetings. Daily fresh menu with local produce.

Great Gastropub

I'm only ever in Ipswich for work. I make sure to get to the Brewery Tap at least once per visit. I normally eat a steak with a glass of red wine, it's always cooked suitably to request. If you can get to a function where they serve BBQ I highly recommend it. The spread is fantastic and the... read more

This is certainly a find, a little of the beaten track right at the end of the Ipswich Marina. If you are walking it's right through a lorry park, but definately worth it. This is a very quaint old pub full of wood, and original features. Very friendly staff and an original menu. The grilled Oysters in shells were as... More

We've been away for a while & were really looking forward to coming back with delightful friends and a French guest. In the past this has been an exceptional and friendly place to eat. Perhaps a Tuesday in February was not the best time?. Nothing was bad at all - but not up to its old self. Starters: the pigeon... More

From the outside you wonder quite what you are in for as it could do with a lick of paint, but, once inside its great, a traditional old pub showing its history. Superb selection of beers mainly locally brewed (try the Cliff Quay, it's good) and the food is superb a good cross section of choices, perfectly cooked and well... More

I have visited Brewery Tap many times and really like this pub. It has very friendly staff, plenty of fresh ales to choose from and very good food. Although you get your "usual pub food" options here, there are also some dishes with twist! The prices are more than reasonable for the quality you get. This pub is very versatile... More

I recently went to The Brewery Tap for a works meal and it was excellent. The food, beer and service could not be faulted. Considering the huge number of people in attendance, the staff stayed so calm and were wonderfully polite. A brilliant night and hopeful to return soon.....but maybe as just a couple!

We turned up out of the blue on a busy sunday and they manage to find us a table. Food is freshly cooked to a high standard! My date had chicken roast dinner while i had pork belly. We then enjoyed Christmas puddings and fresh cream. Hats off to the staff, they made our meal fantastic.

This place is a gem. I have visited before with groups of friends but first time for a table for two. Very secluded corner was found for us with a lovely candle (I love the finer touches)! The menu wasn't huge which could be off putting, but enough and very easy on the eye as were the prices. We ordered... More

We were there in October 2014 for a birthday meal with friends. There were 12 of us and we were given a nice long spacious table. The menu is OK, enough choice for a pub with average pub prices. Service was so slow!! We sat down at 8, the starters arrived before 9pm, maybe 8:50. The mains at 9:45pm!! I... More
