My wife and I recently enjoyed a meal at The Brewery Tap and would certainly recommend it to family and friends. However, we were disappointed that an establishment of this nature lacked the ability to chill the bottle of white wine that we had ordered to complement our meal. Yes, a wine bucket with ice was offered, but surely the... More

Ate here last night with relatives, staff were very friendly and efficient, food was delicious especially the Marsala cream chicken livers on toast. Large portions and reasonable prices - good selection of real ales and non alcoholic drinks which was appreciated by our designated driver. Only criticism would be the coffee was really weak. If you are ever in the... More

First pint was clody and well strange tasting, returned to bar where staff member tried it then obviously took into another member of staff for second opinion. To be fair it was changed wiithout question by the original member of staff but the "second opinion" walked past me in a strop saying we cleaned the pipes today! On a break... More

This pub is a puzzle to me, I have gone there three times, twice with friends and once with family and each time it has been different! The experiences went from beyond excellent to pretty crummy, so that's why I have come up with an average rating. The buliding itself is interesting, Gothic looking, after dark it looks a bit... We didn't expect to find a traditional pub like this in the dock area, alongside the vast old brewery. There's a cottage and hens in the grounds. We loved the atmosphere and individuality of the place. Our food was really good; generous portions served by friendly pleasant staff. An oasis!

We have been to the Brewery Tap a few times, with friends and as a couple. The food has always been excellent, and sensibly priced. A wide choice of draught beer adds to the appeal, and all drinks are at acceptable, if not bargain, prices. On this occasion we had the venison pie which was wonderful and apple pie; equally... More

Went here for dinner at the weekend - not the easiest place to find and hardly a good location, just outside the docks. I was sold by the pastel pink paint! Lovely and cosy inside, very rustic and traditional. Had the fish and chips - very good. Loved the homemade ketchup as well. Service was very good, until the bar... More

my friends love this place.. and i too wanted to like it but sadly i dont think i will be rushing back anytime soon. martini with lemonade thats all i wanted.. and if a pub can get a simple drink right.. then it has a problem. the bar-girl gave just a single shot (25 ml) with something what tasted like... Had a reasonable meal here last week, but found it pricey. Put up with it due to combo with great ale. Pub is shabby and toilets are a disgrace.

Celebrated a friend's birthday on a Sunday lunchtime ..... a large group of mixed ages. Food orders catered for everyone's needs and good children were served first so allowed adults to chat and eat their meals with minimal disturbance. Provided us with a side room and a table close by with games and crayons for the children. Excellent food, all... More
