This place is a hidden gem, and if it was not for that diversion when we had that downpour I would have never found it. We went in here for lunch and well, the food was awesome, everything you could ask for in a simple meal. Did take a little time, but its cooked to order and well anything that... More

poor. disappointing and inexplicably overpriced! 1. overcooked chicken, clearly not free-range or high welfare - lots of it though, smothered in salt. 2. roast potatoes, not crispy not fluffy not hot 3. vegetables, plentiful and overcooked - how about a little fresh local produce carefully cooked rather than braised leeks that had clearly been in the oven since breakfast? 4.... Have been here several times & always enjoy our visits. The pub is a little out of town by the dock gate & by appearance you might not give it a second glance but it is a great little pub with good selection of real ales & good quality locally sourced food. Not all reviewers understand that home prepared food... More

My daughter and I have just had a wonderful lunch at The Brewery Tap, the food was excellent, the beer was smooth. The staff were brilliant with my 7 year old, she ordered a spicy sausage stew, they happily gave her a children's portion which would have fed an adult. She loved it and wants to come back for more.... More

My wife and I recently enjoyed a meal at The Brewery Tap and would certainly recommend it to family and friends. However, we were disappointed that an establishment of this nature lacked the ability to chill the bottle of white wine that we had ordered to complement our meal. Yes, a wine bucket with ice was offered, but surely the... More

Ate here last night with relatives, staff were very friendly and efficient, food was delicious especially the Marsala cream chicken livers on toast. Large portions and reasonable prices - good selection of real ales and non alcoholic drinks which was appreciated by our designated driver. Only criticism would be the coffee was really weak. If you are ever in the... More

First pint was clody and well strange tasting, returned to bar where staff member tried it then obviously took into another member of staff for second opinion. To be fair it was changed wiithout question by the original member of staff but the "second opinion" walked past me in a strop saying we cleaned the pipes today! On a break... More

This pub is a puzzle to me, I have gone there three times, twice with friends and once with family and each time it has been different! The experiences went from beyond excellent to pretty crummy, so that's why I have come up with an average rating. The buliding itself is interesting, Gothic looking, after dark it looks a bit... We didn't expect to find a traditional pub like this in the dock area, alongside the vast old brewery. There's a cottage and hens in the grounds. We loved the atmosphere and individuality of the place. Our food was really good; generous portions served by friendly pleasant staff. An oasis!
