I went to the Greyhound for lunch with a work colleague. I had a look at the two menus where they have foods ranging from about £5 to £11, but there was no steak listed so i asked the waiter if they sell steak? The waiter said yes we have rib eye steak, so one assumed it would be priced... More

the greyhound has been consitently fantastic for years now. the food is great, really great. its reasonably priced and easily one of the best pubs for food in the area. the beer is good and the staff friendly. i cant recommend this place enough for any time of the day, week or year. they also do a decent breakfast on... We found The Greyhound via Tripadvisor when we couldn't eat at our hotel on a Saturday night. A taxi brought us there and we stepped inside, we thought we'd made a mistake as the front bar looks a bit "spit and sawdust". However, the friendly staff showed us to a more pleasant bar round the other side where we enjoyed... More

Have only ever been here for drinks and have always received a warm welcome from the staff so I decided to try the food with a few friends. They seemed to offer a good selection of dishes at lunch time and at good value. There's a concise menu made up of £5 dishes especially for lunch which were definitely worth... More

The Greyhound has been a great pub for over 20 years now, serving great Adnams beers and guest ales together with good pub food. Good atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Recommended to visit by friends at the local theatre and little wonder that the Greyhound is the preferred pub for everyone working in theatre in Ipswich - I understand that cast and crew of both the New Wolsey and Eastern Angles can often be found here after a performance. Great, friendly staff provide a superb range of beers and delicious... More

Fantastic pub with friendly staff, great food and good selection of beers. Of particular note is the Brunch offered on a Sunday morning - it was enormous but all locally sourced by the look of things. Better than other restaurants round here that are charging twice as much! Get's quite busy on a Friday and Saturday night so worth booking... More

We stayed locally overnight at the wonderful Sidegate Guest House and needed to eat in the evening. We always take along the Good Beer Guide and so decided to go to The Greyhound and so glad we did. It's obviously a very popular 'local' and we were warmly greeted on arrival. We chose a ham salad and also meatballs with... More

Was taken in to the pub be a local while visiting Ipswich. Nice pub with a good atmosphere and after a few beers decided to dine in rather than else where. There is a board with lots of specials on and a short menu that covered all tastes. I decided to have a burger, salad and fries. A simple choice... More

It's been a few years since my last visit to the Greyhound but based on this visit I will be returning in the near future. Great food & beer in a perfect pub atmosphere. Busy but very welcoming.
