Very good Fish, shame about the chips

Came here last night, as its my Dates favourite local Pub. I can see why! It's an attractive Victorian building, with a cosy interior and a large beer garden. Plenty of staff behind the bar, which is always good to see, as understaffed bars are a real hassle. Very friendly too and they were... read more

The food was tasty, no MSG. Cosy surroundings , charming. Reasonable choice, child friendly & reasonable price for Good food. Quick friendly service. Some tables although charming were too low underneath for my husband to sit facing the table, others were suitable :) nice experience.

Great food, friendly service. Very buzzy atmosphere. Worth a visit. Serving Adnams beer and Aspalls cider. Home made desserts.

A good 'real' pub - sorry, can't rate the ales - but the food is mostly very good. I went with a bunch of about 8 and most were satisfied. I had a very good duck leg, bacon and black pudding salad - a good choice for a sunny lunch on the terrace. A hamburger was pronounced adequate pub food;... More

to tell you the truth the burgers are the best in Ipswich. Food is always freshly prepared and you can see this from how it tastes. Never had a bad meal here you order almost anything and enjoy it. However I will say £5 for a cider is far too much. I was expecting at least some change back for... More

Last minute decision for a sunday lunch and what a good choice. Lots of specials on the blackboard including Sunday roasts. We went for a steak pie which my husband really enjoyed. I had the Caribbean chicken curry both of which were homemade and absolutely delicious. There was a good choice of Adnams beers. The service and ambiance was great.... More

We'd been away and were suffering with jet lag but had agreed to meet friends at The Greyhound for dinner and the quiz night. We almost didn't go but decided that we really should. Dinner was good, we all had food off the specials menu and were not disappointed at all. The Thai red curry was great a great flavour... More

A few minutes walk from the town centre is The Greyhound and it is well worth a visit. It's a traditional Suffolk style pub serving Adnams in very good nick and top notch gastro pub style food. Sunday is quiz night and the place was packed; the service was lamentably slow but the young front of house team were very... More

Superb pub! The Greyhound has a great reputation locally which it well deserves. This place has a lovely laid back atmosphere with attentive and knowledgable staff. We had a wonderful meal - Sunday roast with all the trimmings and plenty of veg. Most importantly the roast beef was cooked to perfection, beautifully rare and melted in your mouth. Puddings were... From the outside this is a pub! You may not venture in unless you were a local or had been recommended- we were the latter! There is a clear local customer base who are enjoying drinks and usual pub banter, inoffensive and adds to the hubbub and atmosphere. As well as good beer and wine (Adnams), the menu is more...
