It is a treasure trove of unexpected specialities (monkey gland sauce anyone?). Diners can enjoy classic Welsh staples like St David's chicken (wrapped in bacon with a cream leek and mustard sauce), or embark on one of the 'great meal adventures' and sample exotic meats and game in dishes like the juicy ostrich fillet steak, tender kangaroo rogan josh, or succulent llama chipotle chilli burgers. An extensive wine list is also available at Cambridge Mostyn restaurant in Llandudno, to go along with its delectable range of ice creams and liqueurs. The eclectic selection of food and drink is matched only by the diverse decor, which features influences from the savannah to the valleys. I ordered the wild boar stew which was delicious. The meat was very tender and went really well with the tomato based sauce. My partner had the Kangaroo fillet which was cooked to his liking. The veg was al dente and presented very well. My stew came in a quirky little cooking pot which added to the presentation. The veg... More

We were really looking forward to a great meal after looking at the reviews. The starters were lovely but the main courses all disappointed. One beef slow cooked, one Thai curry and one had salmon. The beef was ok but I just expected more meat for the price. The ThaI curry was tasteless and the salmon was dry. We mentioned... More

We were anticipating this review - other customers brought to our attention that you were discussing how you were going to publish a negative review on TripAdvisor, and how rude you were to the waitresses. It is a sad indictment of affairs that your first instinct at a restaurant is to threaten a bad review. I am sorry that you... More

From the moment we entered the welcome was genuine and inviting. The food was fantastic , taking a little time to be served with but its first class presentation showing having been freshly cooked meant it was more than worth that little time. We tried the unusual Bison and Springbok starters which were fab -well there's no point going to... More

HI Chris Thank you so much from all of us here at the Cambridge Mostyn for your complimentary review! We only wished you lived closer too - you are an absolute delight to serve as a customer and your review puts paid to the silly review that follows yours, from some wit who seems to think we are a fast... Just the two of us called in here one evening, didn't book but were welcomed very nicely and shown to a table facing the window with a good view of the busy street below. Menu was VERY varied with exotic meats erring decidedly on a South African theme- as was the wine. We shared a starter which was delicious, well-cooked... More

Ordered the Thai dish which was as much like Thai food as bacon and eggs! We as a group had to wait at least half an hour for the food to be served.

Dear anonymous with a really silly name that suits your review skills. You are right about the strict definition of our interpretation of a Green Seafood Curry. It is more of a Welsh African Green Curry, and it is made here in Wales using sunflower oil, fish stock, fish sauce, baby new potatoes, red peppers Kingklip, Hake fillets and King... More

Ate here in the evening with my girlfriend and enjoyed every minute of it. The pricing suits the service and quality of the food - good! Had the crocodile for starter and we both loved it and wanted more!! Service was polite and efficient but not too in your face. Mains were well presented and good sizes, had the signature... More

Nice little place, service a bit slow but ok. African meats very nice, as was the seafood chowder, meat falling off bone, well seasoned, but bread and veg it was served with plain and boring and overcooked (over boiled carrots, watery!)

For the record, we asked you on a number of occasions if everything was to your satisfaction, which you replied it was. Why on earth you would say that only to pull an anonymous internet review complaining about the carrots and "boring bread", which for the record was a free loaf of Ciabatta bread? It appears you thought the meals,... More

Wow! Went tonight with family. Such unusual food - we tried between us: Crocodile, Springbok, Camel, Buffalo, Ostrich - it was gorgeous, so tasty, so beautifully presented - gorgeous desserts too. Staff and owners so friendly & welcoming - lovely atmosphere. Deffo go again and would highly recommend.

We (myself and my two lads aged 12 and 9) were wandering around looking for somewhere to eat and we just by chance came upon The Cambridge. It immediately stood out as something rather unusual so thought we'd give it a try. Got a nice table by the window. I tried the Windhoek larger a first for me and the... More
