Too expensive

A lovely cosy place to eat with good food and good service but too expensive for what it is. It is nice for couples or friends with plenty of choice on the menu. A nice place for a special treat.

Our B&B was right at the end of the seafront in Crag-y-Don; a fair step to Church Walks but well worth the effort for our evening meal at the Sea Horse. We cannot resist seafood restaurants and were not disappointed here. The chunky baked hake and the Thai fishcakes were particularly memorable. A very satisfactory night out with a pleasant... More

Visited with friends. Service was awful all night. We had one round of drinks all meal and had to make do with a jug of water for the rest of the meal. No one asked us all night if we would like another drink. 4 of us, so they were missing out there!! My meal came out wrong but no... More

Fresh muscles, scallops, monkfish in a sea of cream, herbs, parsley & garlic. Scrumptious! And Ratatouille - couldn't have been a better pairing. Best meal we had in this town of fish & chips.

Booked to celebrate a birthday and we were looked after by the staff very well. The setting is relaxed and has a good atmosphere. The food is sublime, well seasoned and no lashings of black pepper (just a hint) which most chefs now seem obliged to add to your meal. You will need to book in advance as this is... More

Attracted by the great choice of seafood and fish on the board outside and not disappointed! Interesting wine list. Great friendly service. No specific children's menu but the chef came out to and recommended his adaptations for the young children at the next table.

A party of three of us visited this restaurant due to the very good reviews previously noted on Trip advisor. This was a special trip for my sister in laws 80th birthday. She asked for roast lamb that turned out to be sinewy and chewy. I had roast duck that was so badly overcooked I could not eat it, and... More

My husband order lobster Thermidor & I asked for Hake & crab, but the lobster are overdone & the Hake was tasteless as for the crab only a sprinkling of it! Too many choice on the menu all sound impressive but very disappointing!

Had very pleasant evening here, very busy but service was good . Both waitress and waiter were very attentive. Good menu spoilt for choice eventually decided on cray fish and chorizo risotto which was excellent. The duck was delicious with lovely crispy skin, but for me to much BBQ sauce, but that's personal taste. The owner introduced himself and checked... More

Fabntastic evening at the Seahorse, we had been recommended this restaurant by our hosts at the Burleigh House and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and cooked to our liking. Ambience was good and staff attentive. Great place for a special treat.
