It makes me sad to see a review of a place like the Cottage Loaf that is so negative about a desert, especially after the staff replaced the desert in question. We have eaten here about 10 times I would say this year and to be fair each and every meal has been of top quality, from fresh fish, Sunday... More

Lovely place, nice atmosphere and great service. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their choices from the menu and I have to say that I am not surprised that their Ale & Steak Pie is Award Winning..... it's fab! Will definitely visit again.

From the outside it looks like a nice, old, traditional pub. Inside it doesn't disappoint with old stone floors, roaring fires etc - but also a great, light glass conservatory on the back which manages to not look out of place. Once the food arrives it easy to see why this place is so popular and you do have to... More

Nice atmosphere even with Christmas close. The menu provided plenty of choice. The dishes we chose were excellent and the service cheerful and quick considering that they were busy. A good experience we will go back for more!

I had an excellent Christmas lunch here today with my Mum. We visit every other Tuesday and have always had a fantastic lunch by the famous fire! Today with it being Xmas we decided to push the boat and have dessert. We ordered two creme brulee's and when they arrived it looked fantastic! As I tucked into mine with excitement... More

We have been regular visitors to the loaf for many year. On a positive not to the establishment and following the extension to the property, it has become even more popular, the problem now is that if you haven't reserved a table, it is very difficult to get a table if you call in without pre-planning, whether that be for... We're local and used to eat here regularly, but we haven't been since the extension was finished. We went for a late Sunday lunch today and it was brilliant. We had roast pork and son had starter and main which he thoroughly enjoyed. I would rate this high class restaurant food in a cozy pub atmosphere and excellent value for... More

My wife and I have eaten lunch at The Cottage Loaf many times and enjoyed the meals, but we'll not be doing so again. I ordered "Welsh buck rarebit topped with crispy bacon and fried egg" and was very disappointed. I'm not sure what the Welsh rarebit was like as there wasn't enough of it to determine that, the crispy... More
