Great pub, great day.

We've been coming to this pub for years, for many reasons. The location is very good, close to the A27 but it's hardly audible. Beautiful surroundings with a really nice garden. Food is always well above average and the beer Harvey's of course is probably the best kept pint for miles around... read more

Having lived in Eastbourne for over 50 years, I took my elderly mother for lunch today at The Cricketers Arms. She absolutely loved it :)) the menu was well thought of and the dishes were plentiful. My mother chose a starter to eat as her main course, this was most adequate for lunch for a lady of her age. Everything... More

Everything was going ok. Pub looks nice. Good garden space. Good food..... But to try and keep costs down I bought myself and my daughter black current cordial........ £5.00 for two cordials is a joke! I'm a bar maid and we charge 60p for a dash of cordial!!! I walked off and refused to pay it. You can buy 6... More

I am very sorry that you were charged an incorrect price for your cordial. The prices are marked on the till with the product and you should have been charged 60p per shot so cannot understand where the £2.50 per glass was charged. We do sell homemade elderflower so maybe the staff in question tapped the wrong key. We wholeheartedly... More

We stumbled on this superb pub yesterday evening just off the A27 between Polegate & Eastbourne after a tedious journey in traffic. The setting & the Pub are delightful, hardly hear the A27 and the food truly scrumptious. We both had the hand carved ham, egg & chips. The Ham was succulent, the chips crispy & fluffy and suspect free... More

This picturesque pub serves well kept Harvey's and has an interesting menu that changes frequently. On a sunny Sunday we enjoyed sitting in the pretty garden and had a lovely lunch - smoked fish platter and chicken and chorizo salad with a bowl of excellent chips. We were impressed with the well organised service as it was very busy.

I am not sure the location shown lon Trip advisor for this pub is correct...it is off the A27 near Alfriston...shame to miss it if you follow the wrong directions! We went for lunch and cannot fault the location. A beautifully tranquil front garden, the rear garden is less interesting, basically a lawn with picnic tables, but the front is... More

We originally were visiting the Old Church in Berwick and passed the Cricketers Inn on the way, one look and we decided we were staying for lunch on the way back. Stunning appearance and a gorgeous ambience, we were lucky to acquire a table outdoors in the sunshine. Our food was served quickly, we both had Ploughmans which was laden... More

Thank you for your glowing review and we were pleased that you decided to stop off after visiting the church. We spend a lot of time and money on the garden so we're delighted that you were able to sit outside enjoying your platter. Hopefully next time you can enjoy our local ales from Harveys. Kind regards The Cricketers Team More

I have been to the cricketers many times and it never seems to fail. It's tucked away down a small road surrounded by the Sussex hills and I have to say it's one of Eastbourne's best kept secrets. I recently visited it on Tuesday and felt I must write a review for this wonderful place. Nothing better than sitting in... More

Thank you for your very comprehensive review. We are sorry to hear that it was a bit chilly for you to sit in the garden but equally pleased that you enjoyed the ambience of the pub. We have three chefs that make all the dishes so we are happy that we have hit the mark with our burgers and desserts.... More
