Have visited the Cricketers on and off for the last fifteen years at least. It's close to the downs and makes a good spot for a walk on the downs or to visit the local church. Its a Harveys pub and the beer is always excellent and they also sell "guest" beers. On a sunny summers day or evening it... More

We have just arrived home after having a lovely long lunch sitting in the garden of this very English pub. One of our party of six has to follow a gluten free diet and had a choice of seven dishes. Wow! The food was wholesome and served piping hot. Coffee was good too. Will definitely go back again.

Charming pub with an attractive garden, we'd only intended to stop for a drink while on a walk but the presence of duck with apricot sauce on the specials board for £14 swayed daveysdad into having an early lunch. The duck beast was large though not with crispy skin and came with sauté potatoes and broccoli while for the same... More

Lovely county pub, excellent pub grub and a good selection of real ale. I tried their homemade red pepper hummus it came with fresh salad and warm pitta bread yummy. I also tried a mouthful of homemade vegetable pie and some of my partners meat platter, all very good. Friendly Staff and cleanliness add to the charm of this pub.... More

Been here many times over many years. We've been regular Christmas Eve diners with a group of friends over at least five years and drop in from time-to-time all through the year. It's a charming place with friendly staff and the best Harveys anywhere...and that includes the brewery in Lewes. Beautifully kept beer straight from the barrel. The perfect thirst... More

For most of us, a lazy afternoon relaxing under a shady tree in a garden full of old English flowers, the air filled with the sound of birdsong and the aroma of lavender, roses and honeysuckle would represent England at it's best, but throw in cooled ales and dressed crab salads and, for some of us, paradise beckons. Ok -... More

Second visit to Cricketers today en route to visiting my friends in Hastings. Never fail to be impressed by lovely setting of this pub and its picturesque appearance. However, feel pub relies on this for its business. Menu very standard and disappointing and a little dated. However, praise must go to the lovely young man who served us and indeed... More

The dishes were very tasty and well presented. The atmosphere was comfortable. The ale and cider hit both spots! Nice indoor or outdoor seating with lovely gardens and birds. A great experience!

Thank you so much for writing such a glowing report on our pub. We all think we have a little oasis just off the A27 and are pleased you feel the same. We work hard to deliver good local ale and source as much as our food locally as we are able. We hope to see you again soon. Many... More

Stopped here after a hard days walking the South Downs Way, and it was a welcome oasis. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the ales were local and delivered from the cask rather than gassy and mass produced. We booked a table for the evening and enjoyed a lovely meal with plenty of choice, local produce and specials.... More

We visited this very scenic pub for our Sons Birthday lunch and fathers day and although it was very busy we were quickly shown to our table and our meals were served without waiting very long. Thank you for taking the time to write your review and we are pleased that you had an enjoyable meal with us on Sunday but I am very sorry that you found the coffee not to your liking, if you had brought this to our attention at the time we would have refunded you the cost of it.
