Great pub in lovely location!

Great pub in a lovely location over looking countryside down a quiet lane. Drinks selection were great and lots of choice. Food was limited, quality of meat was good but meals were not that special and no veggie option. Overall, food was a let down. Would come back to this pub again for... read more

I often organise coach trips of up to 50 guests. I brought such a party to the Cricketers Arms, and they not only provided excellent food in a very short timeframe (one hour) but it was also delicious, and served with a smile. Peter and his team couldn't have been more accommodating, including a last minute change of menu request... More

This pub is in Berwick near Polegate. Three of us went for lunch on a Monday afternoon to this rather well hidden pub. It is just what a country pub should be: a pretty pub in attractive gardens. It is not flash but plain and clean. We had good English food - Steak and Ale Pie with delicious chips, followed... More

Wow, what a gorgeous and inviting pub. Our friend took us after a good walk, and although we'd not booked we managed to find a table near the crackling fire. Had the most delicious steak pie with rosemary crust.......yummmmm! Would love to go back anytime. Thumbs up.

The Cricketers is a lovely pub, very unspoilt and with a reputation for the best Harveys in the area - as the beer is poured straight from the barrel in the back room - no cellar or pipes. There is a lovely log burner for winter evenings and a beautiful garden to sit in when it's warmer. It's a great... More

We had just spent the morning at Drusilla's, almost directly next door, and were on a quest for some good food for lunch. We drove out of Drusilla's car park and almost straight away turned into the Cricketers Arms. The pub has an intriguing entrance, as in, "is this the door, or is this one the way in?" The pub... A nice country pub set just off the A27. Good food and nice atmosphere, a pity that there is not a more extensive menu as it is pretty much the same with not a lot of variation. It is a lovely pub to go to especially in the summer and you can sit in the garden on a warm sunny... More

Having heard such good reviews, we looked forward to having lunch there. Most of our party had the special, a lamb roast which was ok but the potatoes clearly were not Mondays. Several of us had difficulties getting our knife in the almost blackened, tough potato. One of our group had ordered fish and chips and in due course a... More

In response to this review, we took this last minute booking in good faith, being a Monday in January we had a low number of staff working which is normal. Therefore, when this group demanded individual table service this stretched our resources. Fully accept the complaint regarding the Cod Goujons which was not served to our normal high standard, a... Has to be our favourite country pub. We have eaten here many times and will do so again and again. Food is good. Pie of the day always a treat. Another treat for beer lovers is Harvey's, straight from the barrel. Always book on a Sunday. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good and professional service. Warm and cosy in the... More
