My husband and I had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Ideal for a special occasion and most definitely worth every penny.

We stayed at The Grand last week for a birthday celebration and had dinner in The Mirabelle. We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The starter of Hare Pasta with Parmesan, was full of flavour and the contrasting textures of The Crispy Duck with Asian Coleslaw were a hit with one of the party. Main courses of Lemon Sole with Crayfish... More

We were not staying at The Grand as it was half term and we don't like children everywhere,so we booked into a hotel down the road ,and walked along for dinner. The room is large, and tables are well spaced. We received a very warm welcome from Benjamin and his team.Dinner was excellent.Pumpkin Risotto,Pork and to follow a souffle with coconut ice cream.I... I took my parents here for their wedding anniversary and we enjoyed it though it the service was a little stiff and the room itself lacked atmosphere. The hotel was lovely. The food was not quite as memorable as I had hoped, given the price (I can recall meals I enjoyed from very early childhood and am happy to pay... More

We dined here for New Year (please see my other review) and found the experience very flat and the food to be very inconsistent. The tables were very well spaced which normally is a good thing but the room lacked atmosphere. The food was not of a high standard in my opinion and I think some if the dishes tried... More

This indeed is worth a visit especially if your celebrating something special. The service is first class as you would expect as it is in the Grand Hotel. The wines are expensive for what they serve. The food is really good the flavours are very delicate and very tasty. The place it's self is a little old fashioned in it's... More

I went to the Mirabelle restaurant for a christmas lunch with my girl friends on the Friday before christmas. We had chosen the festive lunch for £25 and thought that was very reasonable . When the meal came it was very nice but nearing the end of my Turkey lunch I found two short black hairs under my slice if... More

There's nothing funky or quirky about the Mirabelle, just classical British fine dining in old fashioned, plush surroundings where you expect to see Poirot on the next table ! They have a dress code ( gentlemen are expected to wear a jacket or tie ) and service is quite formal, although very friendly and helpful. We had the tasting menu... More

Superb food. Excellent, attentive staff. You pay a premium for the sheer quality of the experience, but it's worth every penny. Don't be put off by its grandeur, it's not as expensive as it appears.

Fine food and wine. Staff generally attentive in the restaurant, surprised at staff near ballroom who were surly. Good experience overall.
