Very nice classical English food

A beautiful step back in time type 5 star English restaurant. Food is very good and charmingly very English inspired. There is an excellent wine list at very good prices. If your pallet is not too adventurous and you love good quality English food then this will be heaven for you.

Excellent service, menu choice, food quality and presentation. It is hard to fault this restaurant. The excellent pianist added to the ambience.

The Mirabelle (named after an exclusive variety of plum grown in southern France) has long had an enviable reputation as the 'best of the best' restaurants in town. This, I am pleased to report, is fully justified. With three menus to choose from (with plenty of choice on each) there is no chance of being disappointed with the selection. One... More

We just enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Mirabelle, the highlight being the Roquefort and pear salad starter, which was balanced perfectly! Service was so attentive and yet the overall atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend dining here for a special lunch and fine dining experience. Upon recommendation, we finished with coffee in the main lounge,... More

Stunning dining room, wonderful food, friendly attentive service, pianist - what a superb serene atmosphere! Smart but not as formal as the Grand's other restaurant. We enjoyed two leisurely meals here, taking splendid pre-dinner cocktails in the bar and enjoying the lounge afterwards. On a saturday night a brilliant band and singer were performing nearby in the lounge where we... More

Took my partner to lunch on 24th July. Slightly apprehensive in view of some poor reviews but we had an excellent lunch in the form of a 3 course set meal at £26 per head. Excellent value for such fine dining and can thoroughly recommend.

The staff at the Eastbourne were kind enough to accommodate our wish to be notified of cancellations, as we decided to stay the evening in Eastbourne after hiking the Seven Sisters. We found the food to be quite good, and the restaurant had a cosy atmosphere with a lovely piano accompaniment. We were a bit younger than the rest of... More

We love this place and seem to come often, to celebrate special events. Lovely restaurant, wonderful, attentive staff, and exquisite food. If you want a really superb dinner, lovely flavours, delicious wines and want a restaurant with class, do not hesitate to come. They always have something different on the menu and I have tried many foods here that I... More

I have known, dined at and stayed at The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne many times over the years, and always found it excellent. Until my last visit, which was and will be my last. Last year (2014) I decided to take my Mum and a very good friend to The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne for Christmas Day lunch. It cost me £135... More
