Excellent tea shop to drop by for a relaxing half an hour away from the Eastbourne centre hub-bub. Tea/Coffee with a almond croissant was £3:95, which is not much more than you would pay in places like TJ Hughes canteen or other eateries which don’t have the charm of Neates. I got three large cups of tea out of my... More

How refreshing to be served a mid afternoon snack with lashes of friendliness. We couldn't decide but the lady attending our table had so much enthusiasm about the food on offer that it took less than a minute to choose. Food was just as described and Aznavour was singing in the background, so couldn't beat the experience on a damp... More

The worst part of neates is trying to choose which cake to eat (I usually get my friends to order something different from me so I can eat some of theirs too!) I think I've pretty much tried all their cakes now and I'm never disappointed. It's worth adding that they are all made freshly by one of the sisters... More

We were in Eastbourne for a couple of days and had searched the Internet for a cream tea locally. This coffee shop had great reviews and having visited I have to totally concur. The cream tea was the best we have ever had in the UK ( and we have had a few 😃) Friendly service and well priced. Would... More

Lovely little find during our day trip to Eastbourne. Homely and inviting atmosphere, with lovely service. Definitely the best cake I have ever tasted and I shall most definitely be back!

I happened to walk pass this adorable cafe while out sight seeing when I was visiting Eastbourne. The scones were easily the best I have had in my life, and the whole cream tea experience was amazing! Definitely a place worth visiting!!

I have been looking for an excuse to try this place out for ages. A few weeks ago I finally managed to go there whilst in Eastbourne doing some shopping. The lady who served me was utterly pleasant and assisted me in deciding what scrumptious looking sweet thing I wanted to eat. With a well made coffee and a tasty... More

We were visiting Eastbourne for the weekend and after a busy afternoon, popped in here for cream tea for two. The scones were delicious and portions generous. The place has a lovely warm family atmosphere and staff were very welcoming. We will be back!

Every time I come to Eastbourne my first port of call is a visit to Neate's Cakery. The staff are friendly and obliging and the cakes are to die for. If I could afford to purchase one of each and carry them back to London with me I definitely would but would recommend the cream tea - also the chocolate/caramel... More

Not been here for a while but was still greeted like an old friend! Fantastic coffee and wonderful pastries and cakes. Friendly owners who really want to make your visit a lovely one. Super service too. This is the kind of cake shop, you would have, if you were lucky enough to have one as a business. Highly recommend.
