We came to the Cafe about 4 years ago and I was amazed by the food. So we went back again expecting the same. The food was okay- the sandwich was tasty, the beans on toast good but the burgers were salty and more simmered than grilled. Great location but the food side seems not so good as previous.

We went several times to Sands café during our one week stay in Newgale. First day for lunch which was lovely and well cooked and certainly not overpriced. Next days for a coffee or tea with lovely cakes. And on our last day for a breakfast with 6 persons which was also lovely. We love Sands and recommend it to... More

We waited 35 mins for a very basic meal, staff looked in a panic behind the counter, we could have cooked the meal ourselves in 5 mins. Customers were served out of turn. goodness knows when we would have got our food if we had not complained. over priced and shabby.

Ive been going here for years. I feel it has gone down hill. The food is over price for the most part and the cakes dry. They have often run out of decaf coffee and toilet roll. The weeds are so bad you can barely get in the garden and the whole place is generally shabby. Staff today were rude... More

Very good, service slightly slow but can cope with that. We didn't have anything to eat but will be going back soon. The cakes looked outstanding as did the food that people had on their table. A massive selection of teas which is a winner in my book. Reasonably priced in a nice setting. Maybe some of the coffee shops... More

Decided to go for a swim at Newgale with the family and followed it with Brunch at Sands. Ate here about 10 years ago and it was awful - low rent greasy spoon - now it is very good indeed. My Welsh breakfast was excellent - proper sausages, proper bacon, fresh baked bread - no mass produced rubbish anywhere. Would... More

I live just down the road from Sands and go once a week+, the food is always tasty, the service always excellent and, even better, they provide gluten free options (ideal for me as a coeliac)! A few days ago I had some delicious fresh mackerel, caught literally a few miles away from solva and they regularly have fresh crab... More

Sands Cafe in Newgale is a great place to relax after a nice stroll along the beach, a day on the waves, or a night in a camper van! The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a very good knowledge of the area and are willing to help wayward travellers etc. The menu is very good. There is... More

Sands cafe has fantastic coffee, nice waiting on staff, a wonderful location but...... Clean and freshen up outside Sort out your tatty and frequently non functional toilets Stop the man in the grey cardigan who never smiles or even says good morning from reading the paper before I buy it!
