If you like Indian food then this place is a must. Built in the theme of a hawker centre their is no pretence of this restaurant being a fining dining place until you eat the food and realise this is a restaurant that delivers fine dining food at a budget. 50 RM or £10 will see you through a couple... Very good food and the standard is on par with the many other Sri Ananda Bahwan outlets in Penang. Food wise - thosai, briyani, naan plus the recommended curry and accompanying dishes were really good and tasty. Service was good and fast when taking orders. However, it got slower as the meal progressed until payment. Getting extra plates for sharing,... More

As Singaporeans, we do love our ethnic cuisines and this restaurant just opposite our hotel didn't disappoint. We ordered prawn masala (a type of curry which turned out to be delicious) and naan (which was served warm and soft). The whole family loved the meal, and if you haven't done so, try ordering a lassi drink! For more reviews and... More

Have variety and choices of food. Ample seating. Can see the preparation of some foods (stalls). But service is deteriorating since my last visit - not attentive (maybe because we are seated at the edge of the building) and sloooooooow. Not cheap by local standard. Observed quite some foreigners trying out the Indian food - guess the price (MYR) is... More

Came here with a few friends for dinner. Had the thosai, naan, bendi masala and cauliflower 65. The thosai and naan were above average but the bendi masala and cauliflower were excellent, plus the sauces that came with all the dishes were gooood! The service waiters were quite prompt, food came reasonably quickly and the restaurant was pretty comfortable. Not... More

Waiter was rude and not attentive. Restrict certain "cheaper" items from being served at certain time of day

This was our second trip to Penang & we again spent a lot of time eating at this place! The food is always great & the service is fast. Every meal we've had has been delicious but be warned...they do get busy! Highly recommended :)

If you want a good South Indian meal, this place is worth a visit, especially before 11.30am for a Masala Dosa. The choice of the a la carte is good, but portions are too small for the high price they charge. The service levels are erratic at best (need to wave your hands to get served). The waiters are 'here... More
