Great food + incredibly cheap

This place doesn't look like much (in fact looks a bit dubious hygiene wise) - but turns out the food is really authentic + tasty and incredibly cheap (I think one of the cheapest meals we had in Penang). We love our South Indian food (Thosais, Ootapams etc) as well as Tandoori dishes - this place... read more

We are so used to Indian food back home but the meal at Ananda was the best Indian food we''ve ever had. A meal for 4 of us with plenty to eat only cost us 30GBP! Incredile value for money and brilliant service.

I have been going to this restaurant since few years back. They were my favourite Indian Food Restaurant and don't mind driving nearly 1 hour from my place just to get there. Recently I went there with my wife and I have to admit, their food taste has decreased. It was not as excellent as before and now nearly as... More

This place is a chain with about 5 restaurants throughout Penang. We live a few kms from this outlet and have been here a couple of times now. Affordable dishes and as the place is busy you know that the food hasn't been sitting around long. The paneer masala is one of the most amazing a rich curries I have... More

This restaurant has the right ambience to attract foreign tourist. Reasonably priced South Indian cuisine with a bit of North Indian dishes to accompany. A dish that is a 'must try' is Palak Paneer - a north indian dish consisting of pureed spinach with paneer (cottage cheese). A good variety of Naan and Tandoori with the condiments is another good... One of the prime location of penang. Surprisingly low cost, yet the best food. Most of the food cooked freshly. Try their special crab. Fish fry, kebabs, chicken fry not to be missed. Don't bother to have your meal at Flamingo hotel (unless it it free morning breakfast). A fest for couple within 30rngt only!!

This is a nice resturant opposite the flamingo hotel, it serves a great varity of foods from counter base to a la cart menu, the choice of tandoori is amazing and one of favourite dishes there, breakfast dosai is a must...it can get very busy so at times your order may take some time and dont expect all the orders... This resterant is one of our favourite places, it's busy morning's and evening, but the staff work hard to attend to all tables minimising the wait. If you want to eat dinner on a budget, go to the counter and choose your own curry & rice meal, ordering from the menu can be expensive, although you have a full and... More
