The dose was a small potato was not fresh, I think the only microwave heated because some items were hot, but most of it was cold, as if he had been taken out of the fridge. The price, compared to the dose a bit expensive, I got more of that kind of money elsewhere. Only positive thing was the service.... More

I went with a colleague during ONS and appreciated the service and the food as well. We spent 1,500 korons having a starter (salmon), good plus the fish of the day and 2 beers each. The place is not exactly at low cost but is properly in line with Stavanger prices. We have also a bit of acquavite as an... More

We went for lunch on a Sunday at Sjohuset Skagen - a restaurant on the first, second and third floors of a historic building located right on the quayside. The decor is very rustic with old brickwork, wooden beams and wooden staircases. They offer a two course set menu which includes coffee - either mussels or spare ribs as main... More

The food here is delicious and so is the wine. The service is fast and friendly but could have been more attentive. The water didn't get refilled. You also refill your own wine glasses which is perfectly fine for me, no need for fanciness. For the price of the meal however it could have been nice to have a piece... More

My nephew and I had two days to spend in Stavanger and ate here both days. On Friday I had the reindeer and he had the whale tenderloin (which I had on a previous visit in 2010). On Saturday, after a day climbing Preikestolen, we went back and switched entrees, but I also ordered The Fish Soup and my nephew... More

Three course fixed price dinner-delicious baked cod (and I don't even like fish!) and delicious chocolate dessert (like molten chocolate in a cake). Great friendly service even though we did not have a reservation (I'd recommend doing so). Tons of authentic atmosphere.

A busy restaurant with interior styled like the interior of a pirate ship of old. Bear on tap and a reasonable selection of wines. Equally good if you are after a fish meal or a good steak.

This was our very first restaurant to visit in Scandinavia and if the rest live up to this one we will have a very fine holiday. As one would expect the fish is of very top quality and the reindeer was something special, gamey but not too much so. Two of us had the excellent fish soup as a starter... More

It's not innovative very fancy place, but a cosy restaurant in one of the oldest timber houses of Stavanger. Food is good. Would specially recommend it for traditional Norwegian things like cod with lever and roe and moose. It's a place for a good time with Your colleagues, especially if they are grown up men with respect for bloody biff... More
