My nephew and I had two days to spend in Stavanger and ate here both days. On Friday I had the reindeer and he had the whale tenderloin (which I had on a previous visit in 2010). On Saturday, after a day climbing Preikestolen, we went back and switched entrees, but I also ordered The Fish Soup and my nephew... More

Three course fixed price dinner-delicious baked cod (and I don't even like fish!) and delicious chocolate dessert (like molten chocolate in a cake). Great friendly service even though we did not have a reservation (I'd recommend doing so). Tons of authentic atmosphere.

A busy restaurant with interior styled like the interior of a pirate ship of old. Bear on tap and a reasonable selection of wines. Equally good if you are after a fish meal or a good steak.

This was our very first restaurant to visit in Scandinavia and if the rest live up to this one we will have a very fine holiday. As one would expect the fish is of very top quality and the reindeer was something special, gamey but not too much so. Two of us had the excellent fish soup as a starter... More

It's not innovative very fancy place, but a cosy restaurant in one of the oldest timber houses of Stavanger. Food is good. Would specially recommend it for traditional Norwegian things like cod with lever and roe and moose. It's a place for a good time with Your colleagues, especially if they are grown up men with respect for bloody biff... More

Great little place we went back to a few times. They had an amazing fisksuppe and nice little outdoor patio. Excellent service. Tried the seafood which was excellent and the reindeer which was very delicious. View overlooking the harbor and water. Would recommend to anyone going.

The menu is small but what they serve is good. I had the moose which was really nice. The way it was served was really traditional and the flavors combined really well. Service is good and they are not in a rush to get you out of the door when you finished dinner. Would definitely go here again when in... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Stavanger and I've eaten here a dozen of times. The food has always been of very high quality. The atmosphere is good both inside and outside. Sadly the service is a bit more varied. I've always had excellent service being only two persons here. but the times I've come with groups of... More

Although the cook is Russian (and needs to be a little bit trained on how to politely answer a question from a customer), the restaurant managed to prepare some authentic Norwegian recipes, like fish soup and beef of whale. These were really good and we enjoyed also the Stavanger marina view from the patio. Expect Norwegian prices however, even for... More
