The name "Naboen" means neighbor, and this is just what the Naboen Pub & Restaurant is, a friendly and inviting place to eat and drink. Hospitality is job one here, and the Scandinavian kitchen, staff and culinary tradition are representative of Norway.

The food is all made from scratch, as it would have been two hundred years ago - no processed ingredients allowed. Naboens' menu is a culinary delight, one heaped in Nordic tradition, and best of all moderately priced. Guests here partake of Norwegian food and spirits as they should be enjoyed, Bergen style.

We did not know where to go for dinner and found this restaurant on Tripadvisor. What a great choice !! The food is amazing and so is the service. It's not a big restaurant and there is also a pub downstairs. Will definitely go again !!

We could find a table at the restaurant, so we ate at the bar downstairs. The food was still outstanding, and they had a great selection of beers. The bartender was very helpful. The crowd was also a lot of fun

Whilst working in Bergen, we visited this place three times (once to the pub on the lower level). The food in the main restaurant is fantastic and the chef/waiters and have real passion for the food they are serving. They also have a good range of beers. This place is pretty small, but we didn't have a problem just walking... More

Great place to eat in Bergen! We booked a table in advance, which is recommendable as this is a rather small and busy restaurant. All the tables were occupied, and a few people who came in from the street had to go elsewhere for their meal. The food was really nice, I had shellfish soup for starters, and then I... More

Since I am Swedish, Naboen wad one of the first restaurants I sought out after moving to Bergen 10 years ago. It is super-friendly, good service, and nice atmosphere. Menu changes regularly, but some things are pretty constant on menu like (starter löjroms toast, and some sort of moose on the main course menu) . It is a typical middle... More

Naboen offers smooth service and well-prepared food in a menu that is said to be inspired by the exotic cuisine of faraway Sweden. (I never did learn how Norwegian and Swedish cuisine differ, if they do.)

We went in with no reservations and there was no room in the main restaurant , we went back to our hotel and were told they had a pub in the lower level????? Weird that no one told us at the restaurant 😁 so we went back and went straight to the lower level. Not many choices but a friendly... More

This place has a little pub downstairs with a smaller menu. It is very cozy and the food is very tasty. Just hard to get a seat some times. Upstairs is a bit for fancy and bigger selection of food. This was also a good experience but if I had to choose between the two I would say downstairs is... More

We ate upstairs and truly enjoyed our meal. I had the salmon and my husband had the steak. It seemed as though it was a spot mostly for locals (no English speakers around). Many folks knew about the pub downstairs with locally brewed beers and went straight down the staircase upon entry. There is a Swedish menu also (the owner... More
