Norwegian fish restaurant in a traditional Norwegian atmopshere

This is the place to go for if you want to try traditional Norwegian seafood. They also serve meat. We had fish and dessert and were very satisfied with the food, service and ambiance. On a whirlwind Scandinavia trip in October 2014, we spent a night in Bergen. We were here in the off-season, so the fish market was not really an option (and the places that were open were very touristy). We always seek something authentic and local when we have a choice. We utilize Rick Steves' advice on a frequent basis while... More

A fantastic setting in an old wooden building on the Bergen waterfront. The interior has a wonderful ambience, all old wood, slightly creaky and uneven wooden floors and period artefacts and pictures. The food we ate (main courses only) was excellent, and the service restrained and attentive. The kicker, to anyone not from a Nordic country or with an expense... More

This restaurant was a real treat. Both my husband and I enjoyed our fish dishes..The restaurant was very busy ,even though we got there early.I noted in numerous Norwegian restaurants that they were blissfully low in noise level. This is a little hard to find but worth getting directions to locate.

We had a night in Bergen on a cruise and got a recommendation for this restaurant from the ship's customer service rep. We were six in our party and had a wonderful dinner. The room was beautiful and the food and service were extraordinary. If you want a typical and traditional Norwegian dinner you can't go wrong with this lovely... More

Evocative environment, excellent dinner, the best I have ever eaten. The wine was gorgeous and the dessert very very good. We will definitely visit this restaurant next time we are i Bergen. The service was also very good.

Enhjorningen was our 14th and last dinner of a tour through Sweden and Norway, and this dinner turned out to be among the best. The dining room is lovely, with a traditional rather than modern decor. The three course menu of asparagus with salmon, fish trio (halibut/salmon/ling) and ice cream with fresh strawberries was just superb from start to finish.... More

Yes it is a good restaurant, nice old building. I got mussels and red fish, both very well prepared and presented; service was a bit slow and not really interested in us ( or others). Even if we had a Local speaking Norwegian, waiter could not really care about providing a prompt service, I guess they got paid enough anyway.... More

We stopped in at Enhjorningen during our one night in Bergen, per recommendation of our hotel concierge and our Rick Steves guidebook. We were immediately impressed by the cozy interior -- creaky old colorful wood, big family tables, and pretty art. It fit right in to the Bryggen stretch. The food was delicious, perfectly portioned, and beautifully presented! I would... More

A business dinner with Polish colleagues gave us all an extraordinary experience. Whale as starter, catfish for main course- and browncheeseice with cranberries for dessert made the evening gourmetically perfect!
