Great Meal!

Definitely do the largest tasting menu. Each course is well though out and extremely delicious. We loved the whale carpaccio and the garlic soup. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Feeling a little too full for 7 or 12 courses we chose from the a la carte menu. The starter of crab soup and crab croquette seemed very small although it was excellent. The main course on the other hand was more than ample and maintained the high quality. Attentive service and very knowledgeable sommelier added to a good evening.

The twelve course tasting menu comes highly recommended, and combined with great service from knowledgeable staff it makes for a both exciting and tasteful experience. Some of the items definitely challenged my tastebuds, while other were more traditional, but they were all ranging from very good to excellent. The menu changes with the season and produce available, so each visit... More

If you like fine dining this is the place to go in Bergen. The restaurant is elegant yet cozy - with a nice atmosphere. And the food is absolutely breathtaking. Perfectly composed dishes and a great food experience. It is expensive, but you definitly get what you pay for. Recommended!

We were at 1877 the night before, and although this one was nice too, Colonialen is clearly superior. The food, its ingredients, the wine… everything was excellent, at a very high level. The waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable. The price may seem steep, but it is clearly justified. If you are a gourmet, this is the place to go.

I chose a sandwich and I must say it is the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Service was Ok. If they smile... More

The food was fantastic but pricey, at least to me. A bottle of a good Chablis was 900Nk. We had 2 appetizers ( sautéed lobster and green garlic soup about 200NK each ( the lobster was great the soup very good) Then we had halibut and Iberico pork( both 435NK and both spectacular ). we finished with the cheese board... Food was amazing! service was great and I really enjoy my time there. I only had a main course there, but was spoiled by the waitress with two bite appetizers and a little dessert. I had a pork dish, which was the best pork I ever had. It was made just right with different sauces at different parts of the... More
