Good atmosphere

It was nice to sit down in a casual atmosphere. They have lots of different beers and it really is a nice pub. I went for dinner and had the celery-parsnip soup which was good and the trout which was very very good.

Where do I even begin. This restaurant is really good! There aren't many tourists that come here and the prices are really good. Get the whale steak. It is the same price as in the Fishmarket but you get a bigger piece and you also get a delicious garlic mayonnaise sauce. My girlfriend got the Pan Fried Mountain Trout and... More

Pingvinen was a nice and slight departure for food in Norway after meals and meals of smoked salmon, herring...etc. (Not that I am really complaining). The dishes we had chosen were all still version of regional cooking with fresh ingredients. And for Norway, the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant isn't really formal seating, but more gastropub, so it is... More

I really enjoyed our meal here. Staff were friendly and there were a few local beers on tap. We enjoyed the fish pie and the reindeer dish although the reindeer was a bit dry but still tasty.

We wanted to try norwegian food and this ticked all the boxes. We had reindeer, whale, cured/salted cod etc. Small restaurant/cafe but not too crowded.

Fun bar atmosphere and creative food. You can eat something really heavy like a stew or have an interesting salad. The portions are big and the prices okay. If you split; you might even get a cheap price. Locals and tourists alike eat here

Clearly is like a pub, No reservations are allowed Good beers and even good food sometimes, Fisk pie is the best Bad things: the service extremely bad and they are not able for receiving many people, the resources of this place are very limited The excessive good ratings attract Many people but to be honest, for me it is an... We ate here twice during our week in Bergen. I enjoyed two different dishes, although I can't remember the names of them now! I think one was mashed potatoes with fish mixed in - very tasty. Another was like a macaroni pie made with fish - reminded me of macaroni and cheese. We ate at the bar both times and... More

Having Celiac disease is a huge pain, belive me. I would do anything to be able to eat gluten, but unfortunately gluten makes me very ill and I have to take it seriously. When I politely ask the man behind the bar whether a meal is gluten free and if I can simply have it without the bread, he gives... More

Just looking for a place to have dinner after a long ferry ride. Picked this restaurant at random, because my wife likes penguins. They don't have an extensive menu, but the food is interesting - typical Norwegian food from what I understand. I had a bowl of cauliflower soup with bread as a starter. It was very tasty, cream-based but... More
