Went here following TripAdvisor reviews. It is a bar and also does food. We both has fish pie. Portions large, filling, tasty and good on a cold day. But typical of pub food quality rather than anything more sophisticated. The vegetable was just a large pile of grated carrot. If you view this as basic pub food it is ok,... More

Why isn't this place further up the ranking list? It should be in the top 5. You know it is going to be good when you walk through the door and it is full! But within a couple of minutes we were able to get a table and we were served quickly and by very friendly staff. The food arrived... More

Really cool little bar/restaurant. Nice atmosphere and a good selection of ales. The bar staff are friendly and relaxed and helped us choose some local beers to taste. The food is also good, but has a limited selection. However, fish pie was all we really wanted and it did not disappoint! Price was around 150kr which was quite good as... More

We had a great evening meal here in March. For anyone from London this bar has the feel of a Stoke Newington/Shoreditch bar - not quite hipster-central but certainly quite trendy. It's got a really warm, comfortable interior which nicely blocks out the outside world on a rainy day. Food was great with generous portions, hearty sausages and mash and... More

The food and drinks are good and you can try really good norwegian dishes, I had meatballs (even though they are more swedish) and fiskekake (fish cake) and were quite tasty... a must try if you want to dig on norwegian cuisine!

This is a fantastic place! The food is authentic Norwegian cuisine, and I would really recommend stopping by. The prices are fair, and the atmosphere is really nice. They've furnished the place with old Norwegian style furniture, and it's just a fantastic place to go. In the evening it's a great pub to visit, nice people in a wide age... More

Nice place for a beer as well as a casual tasty meal. Full of locals but we didn't feel out of place at all as it's a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend a visit.

The atmosphere is special with a retro style, with well used furnitures. You feel welcome. The food is homemade, and the portions are rather big.

My husband and I went to the Pingvinen, mainly because I like penguins. We have been back several times since then. Each time we have been there we have had good food and good service. I have eaten the fish pie and fresh haddock. The hubs has eaten the lamb and the meatballs. The meals were warm and tasty and... More

This place is a great place to meet friends for a drink, but also serves delicious, home made, food with reasonable prices. I would recommend it, especially four tourists who are keen on trying some local food without getting ripped off!
