Few tables, but great food

We were there for a dinner before catching a movie. There are very few tables at the pub/restaurant, so we lucked when we found a table for 4 and even more so when the booth (there is only one) opened up right after. Food was excellent and the price are very reasonable. They also have a good... read more

This bar/restaurant is great. Bergen isn't a terribly large city but it's great to know that there are still quality places to eat. Had the pork belly open faced sandwich and the fish and macaroni pie. Excellent! The menu isn't large but I think that's what makes it great. Concentrate on making what they make well and provide a large... More

After a recommendation from my AirBNB host, I eventually found the bar / restaurant and I'm glad I did. Dining alone was no issue, and the staff were accommodating, warm without being intrusive. Many tourists were dropping in and all were made to feel welcome. I chose the Wild Halibut and it was delicious, with fresh vegetables in a creamy... More

This place is busy, and it can be hard to get a seat, especially to eat. We came for drinks and shared a fish gratin as we'd had a late lunch, prices were pretty reasonable though at about 70nok for 0.4l of beer and 160 for the meal, which was a full portion for one. Atmosphere was great though, by... More

This place was such a refreshing place to be at after traveling so much. It had such a nice vibe to it, really nice lighting, and classic style Norwegian dishes. We ordered the meatballs, plukkfisk, potato bacon soup, and a cheese platter. The plukkfisk was so good that I am tempted to go back home and make my on when... More

We found the food delicious, from the cheese board, and potato & bacon soup starters, to the plukkfisk, and meatball main courses. They were all washed down with some great tasting local beer. Highly recommended.

The Penguin is a great downtown type bar. Busy but the staff are friendly and helpful. Good Norwegian food and wine selection. Crowded and busy usually but it's usually possible to find a spot.

On one of my last nights in Norway, I was looking for a casual place with traditional food at reasonable prices, in a fun atmosphere. This was perfect. It is a casual bar with a great local menu, and good selection of drinks. It was loud in there, but it is a bar after all. I had the fish and... More

The restaurant was recommended by tourist information center as we can get 10% discount on food from the Bergen Card. The food is good. The restaurant is quite busy. However, the waitress is not as friendly when we asked for food recommendation. We would have given five stars if the service was better. Overall, it is still a good restaurant... More
