This place was so good that we had dinner and drinks here two out of the three nights we spent in Bergen. First, they have plenty if different beers on tap that range from lagers, dark lagers, pale ales, to stouts from a range of not very common brewers in Norway and elsewhere. That was nice. We were particularly fond... More

We decided to have lunch in Bergen's Pingvinen after we read the recommendation in LP. Great choice! The food was delicious, nice servis, good beer, reasonable price (assuming it's Norway). We had the fish pie, which was great, and meatballs, which was even better. Would definately eat here again if we could!

We were looking forward to trying traditional Norwegian food and as it was highly rated in ta, we walked in as they don't accept reservations. And after ordering whale steak and fish pie and alcoholic drinks, after half way through our drinks we were advised by the waitress that it would take at least another half an hour to get... More

For reasonable prices you can eat very tasty Norwegian food. We went twice - I had the fish pie and salted cod. These were served with a healthy portion of veggies and potatoes. You order and pay at the bar and are served quickly. I found the staff very friendly. They have english menus at the bar which is helpful.

Pingvinen (Penguin, in Norwegian) seemed like it was filled with locals. We asked for an English menu, the waiter was helpful. It was kind of busy, "hip." I ordered the fish pie, and even though I don't eat fish, it was very good. My boyfriend got the meatballs which he liked. We get stressed out when it comes to things... More

We had a great dinner here. Some friends suggested us this restaurants and it absolutely worths a dinner. We ordered pork neck, lamb and halibut (yes! 3 dishes in 2, quite uncommon for Norway's standards but we were hungry and the good food let us order more). That with 3 beer was around 760 nok. Maybe since it isn't a... More

We really enjoyed our meal at this busy little restaurant. I had fish stew and my husband had meatballs. It is quite informal. It is centrally located. I would certainly recommend it.

Small quirky little place but the food is definitely Norwegian. I had a delicious veal stew. I was starving as I was still very jet lagged after a long flight from Canada. The stew was perfect. I'll try to go back. So many restaurants and only a week here in Bergen :(

Location and food is great, but I stopped going there because some of the staff are directly hostile. Pity.

This little corner restaurant offers authentic Norwegian Food as a reasonable price. Give the meatballs a try! Limited menu and also a bar. Limited seating so try and go on off hours or be prepared to wait.
