Delicious fish soup

We were recommended to this restaurant by the hotel as we wanted Norwegian food. Both of us had the fish soup and it was delicious. We ended up going there again on our last night in Bergen. Unfortunately we are unable to recommend anything else as we only had the fish soup.

We went in after having had a look at the menu outside, where at the very top they offered the Light Menu, a set of smaller and cheaper courses. They found us a table for the two of us and we ordered. The waitresses seemed not happy about our "poor" choice, a burger, a sausage and mash and two cokes... More

The food was really good, the service was good, the drinks, the table, the company... I am all over very satisfied! I was there for traditional Norwegian christmas food with a group of colleagues in the beginning of December. We avoided the busy weekend and got the restaurant about half full. The nice waitresses that served our table was giving... More

I can not comment on the food, merely on the service. I made reservations for a group of 8 people. Hell an hour before our time of arrival I got a telephone call from the restaurant. They had cancelled the reservation because a larger group was coming. So they couldn't accommodate us. In hindsight, having read the very average reviews... More

I've eaten here a couple of times and I feel as if it's too posh for me to afford. The prices are actually not that bad. Lunch is the best value meal to consume here.

Have been there twice and the food is not up to modern standards. Last time I had fish of the day, and the fish was ok, but since there where nothing eatable except for the fish I was very disappointed. They did serve some boiled potatoes with no sauce, and when I mentioned this to the waiter, she said I... More

Over 50 years old this restaurant breathes decades of Bergen atmosphere - here is where the students used to go in the sixties and seventies - and now approaching old age they still go there. Actors and artists and the people of Bergen. You go here to have dinner with friends and you go here after theatre to have a... More

We were in this restaurant a year ago, around the same time (julebord and so on:) and everything was literally Perfect. So, we decided to repeat the experience this year and get some traditional Norwegian Food again. And this time it was a huge disappointment: the food was served...well, it was not served, random pieces of potatoes were just laying... More

Norwegian cuisine. Traditional Norwegian dishes and atmosphere. The pinnekjøt was fat. The beef was to little with few vegetables and price high. Waiters not professional but tried to be nice.

We were on a mission for the Norwegian version of what we Minnesotans call ruspeklub. Norwegians call it raspeboller and it is a Thursday night special at Wesselstuen. It is a potato dumpling we make from grated potatoes, flour and salt. This is formed into a ball and boiled in salted, smoked, ham broth and served with ham and melted... More
