Cozy local pub with a great selection of wines by the glass. Staff is knowledgable and can make recommendations. Home-made pizza available as well.
I highly recommend Pergola food and wine bar. There's a wide selection of wines by the bottle at all price ranges (including a rather pricey DRC!) and they have several excellent options for wines by the glass. They offer pizza and antipasti platters for food....We had the pizza which was excellent; the table next to us had the antipasti which looked impressive. Service was excellent. It's not the easiest place to find but just follow your smartphone and look for the signs -- there are entrances at both the front and back.More
If you can find it then it’s we’ll worth a visit. We had spent a couple of nights eating out and also stuffing ourselves with the breakfasts at Hotel Norge so didn’t fancy much to eat - Pergola vinbar presented a beautiful platter of meats...and cheeses along with some lovely red wine and a cosy and warm interior. The lady who served us paired a lovely red wine with the food and we had a lovely couple of hours here. I believe they also do fantastic pizzas. It is well hidden from the Main Street so you do have to do a bit of searching and even when you get down the alley you need to try the right door! Worth it though.More
Excellent service, delicious pizza and great wine. All in a cozy atmosphere, to affordable prices. I’ll be back!
I loved Pergola! I was there with my father, who came from Argentina to visit me. Lene made our night: Service, quality, and the extra mile giving us a technically perfect attention. TUSEN TAKK! =)
Hidden entrance reveals a nice informal and smal bar with great wine selection and knowledgeable staff. Absolutely worth a visit for the wine, and you get good light food - whether ham, cheese or pizza to go with it
Was recommended this as the prefect place for wine and a relaxed atmosphere - and we were not disappointed. Had a nice bottle Barbaresco, and even ordered a pizza. A perfect evening!
It is worth the effort to try and find it. Some very nice wines in a cosy atmosphere. Parmaggiano cheese like you would taste it in Italy.
If you want Italian pizza you should save up for a trip to Italy instead. Pizza here is simply awful and price to high, and it's not prepared in a stone oven, but rather in a pizza cooker. The only two things I would recommend...is wine and cheese platter. - wine serving takes 15-20 minutes - cheese platter 1h - waiting for pizza 1h 40 min - female waiter is rude I would not even recommend my worst enemy to eat at this place, it's a insult to Italian food and traditions!More
We went as a couple in june and greatly enjoyed ourselves. The outdoor space is very cozy and the staff is very friendly. We had a cheese and ham platter and red wine. Highly recommended
Without wanting to repeat previous reviews, this is a fabulous wine bar that happens to serve equally fabulous charcuterie platters and pizzas. We took the waiters wine recommendations (white and red) and were very impressed. A little hard to find, but worth the effort.
We found this csoy wine bar down an alleyway off the main street. On entry we were immediately welcomed and the menu explained to us. We selected wines by the glass based on dscussion with the owner. The only food served was charcuterie (cold meats,...cheese and olives) and crispy thin pizzas which were delicious. The focus here is on the wine so don't go if you are looking for a full Italian meal.More
Having consulted TripAdvisor we decided to check out this establishment. We thought we would have a quiet glass of wine and, if the food looked any good, we would eat. We ordered two glasses of Merlot and the manager suggested a wine from Washington State...in USA. We had never heard of Washington State as a producer of wine so we were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this wine. We began talking with the manager and learned that he and the owner do a great deal of travelling selecting wines from all over. The wine list is just amazing; I have never seen such an extensive list. As to the food, as others have said the choice is very limited but what is offered is spectacular. We had the small meat and cheese platter. It could have been a meal in itself. The Prosciutto was to die for and the fennel salami was equally delicious. At this point we ordered the rest of the bottle of Merlot and the prosciutto pizza and settled down for a gourmet experience. The pizza base was very thin as it ought to be so as to highlight the quality of the topping. To the reviewer who thought it tasted like a cracker perhaps stick with Pepe’s American Pizza A fantastic experience all round. So sorry that we have to move on tomorrow. Would love to eat here regularly.More
It is categorised under Italian and its kind of Italian but kind of not. It’s a wine bar that serves a few dishes. The cheese and meat first course was great! The pizza was good though the crust is very thin. It is not fancy...and I don’t think it’s trying to be. If you are looking for a simple place with the family it fitted my billl.More
